YARPiMS - Yet Aother Raspberry Pi Monitoring System

Recommended Posts

Along the same lines as @KayDog & @Flamedodger I have a Raspberry Pi measuring the temperature and humidity in my tent.

I'm using Node-Red with a bme280 temp/hum/pressure sensor. Not sure how accurate it is but it shows me if I've forgotten to turn the heater up. If I knew what I was doing I would alter the readout to show just 2 decimal points - but I get something to work and often say 'good enough' and stop.

There's also a camera connected to the same Pi so I can see my girls growing. The Pi is running 'motion' and is also taking a still photo every 1/2 hour to hopefully make a time lapse video. The camera has an HDMI Cable Extension Module from the PiHut to enable it to be set away from the Pi which is outside the grow tent. Camera is mounted on an articulated 3D printed mount downloaded off thingiverse. I've managed to knock the camera twice and had to reposition it again, next time I'll mount it in a better place.

What's in the box? - 2 Dutch Passion Auto Mazars, both manifolded and nearing harvest.

(Linux Mint needs updates installing, I'll do it now :) )

Pims - OK yar!

Sweet set up. Have a play with home assistant you can tie in so many different IoT devices. Mobile apps for that as well :yep:
