twbud
Hello I’ve got my 22l pots full of light-mix soil. Is there a trick or magic word to getting the soil wicked? How long should it take? I was expecting it to wick up pretty quickly, but perhaps that was dumb. Maybe it wicks up quicker after getting wet once or something? cheers

twbud
I have already been whispering “DJ hype, hype, gimme the funk gimme the funk” quietly to them but nothing is happening
uBercaMeL
If the soil has a decent level of moisture out the bag just water them in after transplant (just to settle the soil, it doesn't need or even want to be at max water/field capacity, particularly if you are potting up by a large amount). If it's bone dry and not taking up any water it's probably been stored poorly and is very old. A wetting agent might help if it's dried out and you can't get some fresh/moist stuff. e2a - just realised I'm in hydroponics and you're on about a bottom feed wick system like autopots? Even then I would suggest watering in from above initially. If you need to full soak to set the valves up for use I'd do it a few days after the initial watering in, personally. Nervous
Soap nuts diluted in water. Try to give it as much time between using the nuts and transplanting as they will have a mild negative effect on microbes if you don't dilute it enough. Yucca is also good but expensive.
