Reduce PVC pipe diameter

Recommended Posts

I am building a frame and have some pvc joints and pvc poles to go in them. Problem is the poles are 32mm and the joints are 30mm, so I need to shave off some of the poles.

I guess if I had a lathe or similar it would be simple but I dont.

Anyone got any ideas on how it can be done effectively with standard DIY equipment?

Thanks!

get your grinder out and saw cut the ends of the 32mm poles both sides, a bit of insulation tape to hold them together,  and force them into the 30s is about all i can come up with, apart from stating the obvious and saying get the right size connectors.

You could get 32mm wooden dowel from BnQ or summat. Use it to peg the ends together. It’d only need a light sanding to fit yer 30mm female corner. You’d probably only need 2 inch per dowel.

I do think the slicing and forcing the ends in is a good idea coz it costs nowt like :yep: good luck bud
