Guy tells me he used normal tap water . Should I get a ro unit to be safe.. 3 filter or 5 filter or just tap water Rain water ? Rain water and river water will not be treated and will have loads of bits in it and would leave loads of crud in your buckets and lead to root problems imo R/o unit if you can but not essential. And if you can replace the dripper tubing with new and make sure the full system gets a full clean through with bleach your good to go 3 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

YOREEL Posted May 28, 2020 Share Posted May 28, 2020 Seen this system online and saw two up on ebay a few weeks back but had no transport to pick it up. Wanted to know if the 6 pot would fit in a 1.4x1.4m tent with the res outside....if not I'll go with a 4 pot later this year. I used RO for my first hydro but that was me being me..ended up mixing 50/50 with tap water close to the end of the grow. I can not see why not the res can be put out side. The guy had it set up with the brain in the middle of 4 pots in stead being on the end To reduce the length. Auto gorilla Posted May 30, 2020 Share Posted May 30, 2020 I grow in rdwc and use RO water as my tap water is absolutely shocking EC0.8 so doesn’t leave me much to play with by using RO water which gives me a base of 0 I can add specific plant nutrients to give me the EC I want and ino there crap in there.
