Discombobulate
Hey guys, I have a few questions about coco professional. firstly can you flush a plant With tap water in coco? I saw something about tap water messing with the buffers rendering it useless, if you do flush with it what would happen to the plants? Is there any point in testing run off of coco? thanks
Discombobulate
Also wondering if you guys leave water in your pot plates or empty the run off
GrinderMan
With Coco I do not flush at all throughout the grow with plain water, however, I may water once or twice throughout the grow with plain water (too lazy to measure feed If reservoir is not full). You can use plain water, I live in a soft water area and add calmag to all my nutrient mixes. Last 7 days of grow for me is the flush, then I use plain un-pH'd tap water. thatman
Just now, GrinderMan said: With Coco I do not flush at all throughout the grow with plain water, however, I may water once or twice throughout the grow with plain water (too lazy to measure feed If reservoir is not full). GM I thought, that using ph'ed water to flush for the last week or so, allows the plant to consume any food still left in the plant.
Guest
Plain water, no pH. Otherwise its not plain water now is it?

Discombobulate
How often should I be watering in coco would you say?
H + H2O
Look to feed everyday or multiple times a day once the plants are established. I don't flush with water until a few days from chop, if my run off EC builds upto say 2.0 because I've been lazy and not been watering to runoff, I'll flush with 0.8EC feed until the runoff settles where I want, say back at 1.2 When I'm ready to preharvest flush(say 10 days from chop), I use my flushing solution (0.8ec) to bring the runoff to exactly that(0.8) and run that till 3 days from chop and then use plain water to bring the runoff to close to zero E.C, and continue with that till I chop. Discombobulate
Ok great thank you, I have been watering pretty much everyday then emptying the run off in the saucers. Sorry what do you mean by E.C is that to do with ppms as my ppm reader was around 375 on last read.
