Venting Idea For Veg/flower Drobe

Hi,

I'm putting together a wardrobe to use as a growdrobe, and I'd

really like to split it into veg and flower areas, but can I just use

the one fan - I have a 4"/100mm RVK100 fan?

I was thinking I'd need to put a carbon filter in the veg area

as well, not sure I need it, do they smell at the veg stage

at all? Thing is, if I only have a filter in the flower section then

the fan's just gonna pull through the veg chamber as it'll

have less resistance. What do you think?

The other idea I had, was to only put intakes in one area, then

have a (light-proofed) duct into the other area, where the filter

and fan are. Would the fact the air into the second area is

slightly 'used' by the first area have a adverse effect?

If not, better to pull air into veg, then flower area, or flower,

then veg area? It would be asier to pull air into the flower

area first (at the bottom), then into the veg area at the top

where the shelf is.

Assuming a wardrobe 180cm x 49cm x 79cm, if I split into two

sections, carbon filter in each, then to a 'Y' section, then to

the RVK, would it still have enough 'suck' to cope?

In terms of heat, I have 2 x envirolites, so not too much heat?

The fan should be enough I would have thought, it's the same

volume of air, but I'm not sure how big the effect of the filter is?

Also (sorry, this is going on a bit), am I better off using the blue

enviro in veg area, the red in flower area, or putting both into

the flower area, and getting some cheapo cf's for the veg area?

I'd only be looking at a smallish veg area (maybe 1/4 the drobe),

so one or two mums and a handful of clones at any time is all.

Thanks if you got this far,

I had same problemo, so i built a box which was 18 inch square, i had a 4 inch pipe coming from box attached to my extractor, and 2 x 3inc pipes on other side of box. the box acts like a vacuum and the 2 x 3inch pipes can be put into a chamber each, it increases the suction as it drops to a 3 inc inlet, and extract times 2 to the vacuum. Hope this helps

I had an inline filter on other side of fan, so vac box fan filter, it works the same as passive inlet too, inlet into 2 chambers and extract from 2, only 2 fans required, it doesnt affect extraction either

I thought you had to have the filter before the fan, or

it gets clogged up. Or is that just being over cautious?

my carbon filter was for odours, not for forign objects lol i have a pair of tights (not mine!) over my inlet pipe, which pokes inconspicuosly out of my shed, and is held in place by the obligatory "lacky band", I then clean filter weekly, of any flies etc
