Vapehead
Morning all, going to the Dam in exactly 2 weeks Never tried Dampkring but just looked at the menu and really liked it's layout. Anyone sampled their weed - any good? Would also be interested to try Barney's. Really liked Bluebird - thought their staff were cool too. Also did Abraxas but thought was too touristy / commercialised for me and I thought their weed was average. Am older pothead so looking for somewhere to nice 'n relaxed to chill with my weed for a bit of quiet contemplation - that may be hard to find in Amsterdam! Need somewhere with a vaporiser too. Cheers,

Chomper
Get out to Haarlem - 15 minutes on the train. Coffeeshop Indica - great shop with a great view, very chilled and cheaper than Amsterdam with no 5g limit either. They have some Nepali pollen in there at the moment that looks amazing. Enjoy your trip

Hashishin
I wouldn't bother with Barney's, it's not what it used to be. De Dampkring is a much better coffeeshop IMO.
d97
Its been a while since Ive been but the Dampkring was always a favorite or Tweede Kamer their sister shop five minutes away a lot smaller but same menu not as busy though although I heard on the grapevine Dampkring is now a head shop as opposed to a coffee shop if someone could confirm or deny this rumour would be much appreciated the Rokerij down near Leidsplein again quite good and Cafe 420 excellent shop but not very extensive selection but tends to be good stock.
Owderb
IMO overall Dampkring, especially the one near Greenhouse, has the best weed, out of all the ones weve tried. We've found it to be that way for at least the past 3 years at least. We buy most of our weed there and then visit other shops but dont buy their weed Owd Edited November 30, 2012 by Owderb
PureSmkr
They have a head shop along prinzhenriccade or whatever the road is called - come out centraal station and turn right, it's over the road after a few hundred metres. Their coffeeshops are still very much there and alive, Tweede Kamer is also worth a look as its their sister shop (same menu). I prefer the original Dampkring to what was Pink Floyd (now also Dampkring) as I find their staff friendlier and the cat is always so stoned

Thanks a lot people - some great suggestions. Looked at Barney's again and think I'll give it a miss - most of their stock seems to be on the sativa side and I'm more of an indica-head. I'll get there Friday evening, and prob head straight for Dampkring or Bluebird to buy. Will spend Saturday and Sunday in Haalam - like the sound of Coffeshop Indica and heard good thinks about Willy Wortel. Then back to the Dam on Monday before coming home. Can't wait! BenjiKush
G13/Amnesia, ceres hilton and c5 pioneer all from dampkring, all sativa dominant up highs, can't really help if you an indica fan, dampkring on haarlemmerstraat is cool but always seems busy when I've been, de kuli/420 its down a narrow alley on damrak opposite side of the road from the grasshopper as mentioned is a chilled place with vapes, th 420 haze is pretty good, nothin special taste smell looks wise but it does the job, amnesia seemed pretty chilled out and quiet when I was there, weed is basically barneys and grey area is just round the corner so you can go there get some high grade (silver bubble, grey haze, grey berry and kuchi were all very good) and then walk round the corner to amnesia for comfy seats and a good selection on the menu (food & drink), personally I find barneys over rated, tiny shops uncomftable stools, the dr.grinspoon was good but expensive for some fluff on stems, as owd says, dampkring has consistently proved to have the best weed in dam from my experience
Chomper
I agree with other posters about the quality of Dampkrings weed. It is consistiently good and they offer decent value for money on 'regular' strains such as power plant, nycd, and jack. They also do Riffman hash, which is excellent. If you are on Haarlemerstraat, there is also a shop called Popeyes which has excellent import hash...particularly the Popeye Cream and Aladins Chocolate. Green Place is also worth checking out. It is on Neiwendijk just along from De Waag. If you do end up in Cafe 420. Go for a couple of beers in a beer cafe called In De Wildemaan....1 minute walk from 420 Cafe; left out of the door, right at the end of street and then immediately left on to Pilsteeg. It is only about 30 yards or so down on the LHS....opposite Cafe Ben (Moroccan coffeeshop that is best avoided IMHO).

Al Swearengen
If your on for a little stroll and shops that have a bit more of a local feel and good stock, hit Paradox than 1e Hulp and on up to Katsu. Bluebird has always had great ganj over the years :yinyang: Enjot I love it out there but its heavy on the pocket nowadays!!
