I also like to read up on the plant hormones - really the chemistry of the plant, rather than the botany. I've succeeded in turning F1 NL into Feminised F1 NL - by fiddling around with the homones - either by chemicals or by environmental changes which alter the chemical balance - auxins, cytokinins, gibberellins etc. Basically the above - was environmental - by stripping the leaf patterns away, bottom-up every few days - you can induce hermying in non-hermie plant and produce feminised seed that way - chemically is a bit more difficult - but gibberrellins are usually used in industry to achieve this more quickly and effectively - though they don't appear to publish results... a bit like a secret formula. tata!
