Underwater
Why is Scotland the most violent Country on the planet? According to a United Nations report in 2005 - we don't listen to them Toe rag. The hospitality here is second to none. Ask anyone for directions and you probably won't get stabbed Edited January 27, 2011 by Underwater
Boojum
Why is Scotland the most violent Country on the planet? It isn't. It really isn't, that's a perception about the place that just isn't true man. I've been to Scotland a lot of times in the past few years, most of them to Glasgow - which is perceived as a rough place. It really isn't and it depresses me that such a lovely place has this reputation as being violent Scotland is no more violent than anywhere else, and I'd say it's probably a lot less violent than inner city London, or inner city Manchester, or inner city Liverpool, or inner city Birmingham etc... There is a lot of violence in any big city, but Scotland on the whole is no more violent than anywhere else, that's just fear and prejudice talking man. E2A the bad parts of Glasgow are probably pretty fucking violent, but that doesn't mean the rest of Scotland is Just as much as Moss Side doesn't represent what the North West of England is like. Underwater
It's a staggering claim. Most of Scotland is completely empty for a start. I have always wondered how the UN came up with that rubbish. How could such a sparsely populated place be the most of anything. Most empty, most beautiful, most tranquil - yes. Violent? As Boojum says everywhere has it's bad spots. I lived in Glasgow for years (rolled about the streets legless a lot) and never saw a spark of trouble. Nothing. For years.
Boojum
My personal barometer is that I've staggered around Buchanan street bus station in Glasgow pretty fucking drunk a fair few times, and the worst I ever got was some old bloke stagger up to me, ask me for a fag and while I rolled one up for him had a chat. I've stepped off the train in chester, walked off the platform and been punched in the head for looking at someone

Conspiracy23
Here's one on the shores of Loch Lomond a few year back, forgot to remove the spliff and lighter (beside shades at bow of boat) before taking the shot These other's I took last summer about 15 miles up the east side of the loch. Kev Bridges (Scottish Comedian) has also pointed out that in the same year Glasgow was recognised as 'The Friendliest City in the UK' as well as 'The Most Violent City in the UK' As he put it, You may get mugged, but it'll be done with a smile and a wave.
