Wattage rating on lights

Ok i didnt quite mean every bulb. Let me explain, :afro: Would a 100w flouresent burn as much electricity as a 100w hps or halide? lol;)

hiya jamin, it all depends on the type of fluro, but a short answer is No , mh and hps by design are high intensity dischrge lamps and i am fairly sure they run higher ;)

most definetly not an expert on this budd, but i hope it helps :)

cheers hemlok, i was just asking really cos im wanting a light for a mother/veg but the sound of 210watts freaks my shit a bit, electricity wise. Just wanted to know if the flouros eat electricity like the big boys do. Cheers mate. ;)

A 100w is a 100w its a measure of power used over time.

So any appliance rated at 100w uses 100w per hr. After 10 hours that is 10 x 100 = 1000w or 1kw or 1 unit of electricity has been used.
