Worthing Local Election Plans

Worthing Missive

Recommended Posts

The LCA Sussex is hoping to arrange a showing of Green Britain, Paul Dooners brilliant documentary on the cannabis campaign over the past few years, at Worthing’s Dome Cinema in early February with invites going out to local dignitaries such as councillors and magistrates.

Invites will also be sent out to the press, (local and national), local traders associations, the Round Table, the Rotary Club, the Lions Club and any other local groups with a question and answers session after the film.

Also making it’s first appearance will be Paul Dooners footage of the second bust at the QL and this film more than anything begs the question, “How can they justify the cost of all that ?”.

Anybody interested in attending this event or even being on the panel for questions and answer time please PM us and we will do everything in our power to send out invites and arrange accommodation.

It is hoped Lyndon, CC News’s esteemed editor will be MC on the night, (He has not yet been asked but we have decided he will be the best man for the job and will send a lynch mob out on the night to grab him if we have to do.).

As a finale to all this, the details of the 2003 LCA Conference, which is to be held in the first week in April, (provisionally) in Worthing, will be announced together with details of the Grand Gala LCA Benefit Gig which will be staged at a prestigious venue in the town the same evening, where it is hoped, (mentioning no names yet), a well known, chart topping, pro cannabis band will be appearing with at least 3 supporting acts.

All this is a prelude to the May Local Council Elections where LCA parliamentary candidates in the 2002 general election, Chris Baldwin and Phil Lockwood, and Colin Johnson, a well known local personality, ex pro wrestler and activist will be standing in their respective wards.

With support for the trio running high in the town, (possibly something to do with their involvement in the Quantum Leaf and Good Buddy community projects), Chris, Phil and Colin consider Worthing, this May, to be the time and place that will see the first LCA Councillors representing the true feelings of a town.

Again, any activists interested in spending 2 weeks in May, by the sea on our beautiful south coast, banging the drum and blowing the horn for the cause, give us a shout by PM or e-mail. It will be a great and high time, we promise, and you will be making history. All they need is around 900 votes each.

Stay High

The Worthing Missive.

P.S. 1.

Please copy and distribute far and wide in the cannabis community.

P.S. 2.

We have heard a rumour that wherever you live, if you are entitled to vote in UK local elections, all you would have to do is register on the electoral register, at any address, in any ward you want to vote in, and you can either vote in that ward in person, by proxy or postal votes.

Anybody got any ideas or suggestions on this one ?

Well, I do know about the last bit -

Buried on page two of the Representation of the People's Act are the rules as to who is eligible to vote.

Pop down the library and read it.
