Microsoft acquires UK game maker

US software giant Microsoft has acquired British video game developer Rare, which will create console games for Microsoft's Xbox system.

Microsoft acquired Rare for £250 million, the company said.

Microsoft said Rare co-founders Chris and Tim Stamper and their game developers and designers would continue to work at Rare in Warwickshire.

word of warning for those considering getting an Xbox.

If you want one, get one soon, because MS are in the process of bringing out a new version that does not work with the modchips.

This new version may be cracked in a few weeks, or a few months, but if you are into that kind of thing (like I am :woot: ) then who wants to have all that uncertainty.
