Hir
Even though doing this is daft, up there as a big contender for the greatest comedy film ever made. If you haven't seen it please watch it. Don't confuse it with the weaker remake from a few years ago, this is a masterclass. Stella performances throughout. Zero Mostel, blacklisted only a few years before, gives a wickedly delicious flavour to the film as a Broadway impresario . Possibly Gene Wilder's finest role although I have a soft spot for Young Frankenstein. Kenneth Mars as the Nazi author of Springtime for Hitler . The aim? To produce the worst play ever staged and fleece the investors when it flops. Written and Directed by Mel Brookes, his first film.
