So i'm wanting to get that private prescription.  I feel stuck in what to say. Can I be fully honnest about my cannabis smoking, my gp (love him) is happy (but referring me to neurology as if i don't smoke cannabis the drugs for my RLS (restless leg syndrome) appear to worsen it (happened in jail so medically logged) ive only tried the one drug there though as studies conclude that if it worsens it like with me and the studies give the only other options as controlled drugs, the RLS drug made me ache(on my side) sleeping too which i thought was the jail beds lmao if i knew id certainly be allowed for that reason, but there is a good reason for only trying the one drug so its a complicated as the rules are 2....

However I have tried at least 2 SSRIs for depression/anxiety so i'd qualify there wouldn't i?  I've tried ritalin last year for my adhd and am now on dexamp and lisexamp (elevanse) I need it to smoothen the medication and for anxiety/depression particularly.

You should qualify mate. Have a look at the medical cannabis clinic website they have a list of conditions

I was more interested to know what I tell them!  I assume i can say i self medicate with cannabis and just want to legally and correctly treat my conditions?  Was hoping someone could talk from experience as it's such new territory i'm lost what to say or not say,but do know i certainly qualify

The consensus I've picked up on is that yes, you can and should be honest @buttheaduk it's a case of providing your SCR (Summary Care Record) that shows you have a qualifying condition and have tried two 'front-line' medications to treat it. There's a few clinics to go to for a private prescription. I am going for Sapphire FWIW.

P.S. I also get RLS and it's mostly due to SSRIs.

Thanks, perfect!  My RLS started 1 or 2 month into a drug jail sentence and I got medicated within a month!  I believe being forced onto Levothyroxine when I self medicated with natural pig hormones and going hypothyroid caused the condition but that could be mere co-incidence, who knows.  Thankfully i'm now prescribed natural pig hormones which are rare than sativex!!!!. Does the cannabis not stop your RLS? It's a a horrible condition to feel but cannabis is a dream for it

Has brexit had any affect on herbal supply's/pricing?  Looked into Sapphire before.  Does it still 'have' to be their pharmacy or can it go to one of the select few of your choosing? Liking the 'no prescription' fees they quote so might use them ;)

It's kind of a complicated mess for me. I used to self-medicate with high THC for decades for sleep issues but more recently I found it exacerbated anxiety and low mood, even when I just had a little bit before bed. So I ended up on SSRIs which triggered RLS every night (something I only rarely experienced in previous decades) so no I am kind of trapped on SSRI and having crappy sex life (man, come already!) and terrible sleep (and no chance of a quick wank and a dopamine rush to kill the RLS at 2am either)  vs potentially relapsing into severe anxiety and depression. I am up for tapering off the SSRIs and onto medi high CBD flowers and seeing how I get on though. But I've just about had enough of these SSRI side-effects. Having said that, when I have any THC these days with my wife we end up giggling and having a great time, which I haven't done for a couple of years or so. Having a laugh is a seriously positive moment for me!

I also get migraines FFS, so I actually find getting REALLY blasted on THC and falling asleep helps me get through that pain but thankfully I don't have that often.

As far as I know, Sapphire is associated with CBPM but I also understand you can ask your Dr at the clinic to transfer a prescription to a different pharmacy but I am not speaking from personal experience.

Brexit has effed up some supply for sure.

Gonna go with Saphire just not sure which condition to pick! If I pick ADHD would I still qualify under that route as I tried Ritalin last year and am now on dexamphetamine IR boosters and lisdexamphetamine so have tried 3 but still on 2!  Does that still count?  Or will I have to go a different route?  Don't wanna pay to see one specialist only to be told I need a different cannabis specialist lmao

I'd go for the one that is the most troubling, or you've tried the most meds for recently, as long as it's on their list of qualifying conditions. I think they would triage all conditions on your SCR anyway but you just need to pick one to select on the form. You get a space to type some history and goal on the application. I'm still waiting for my first appointment FYI

If your not coping well with the SSRI side effects their are plenty of other options (unless your Sertonin is physically unbalanced which it probably isn't!)  Some illegal, some legal! I've not tried it but I do strongly suggest you look into microdosing either psyilosybin (magic mushrooms) or lsd if you haven't already ;)
