Arthur Mix
Thought I would have a crude experiment to see if I could show how Minivap is much more Convection based than the Mighty and Healthy Rips fierce are. The fairest way to do this was to take measurements from the bottom of the bowls on the screens . I used a thermocouple on my meter I checked it against my rosin plates and it was within a degree or two , so good enough for this imho . All the devices had two minutes to soak at each temp prior to reading. Minivap temps are Blue = 185c , Pink = 200c , Green = 215c , Red = 230c . So I matched those temps within the abilities of the Mighty which maxes at 210c and Fierce maxes at 221c. The Mighty . 185c setting Mighty 200c Mighty 210c Fierce 185c Fierce 200c Fierce 215c Fierce 221c Minivap temps there are two for it as it has such a cooler bowl , second temp is after sucking though to add conduction to screen , hope this makes sense, last two pics no second pic as hot to hold and blow and take a pic the others are conduction see and sit at temp set Minivap Blue = 185c without use Minivap Blue after draw ten seconds 185c Minivap Pink = 200c no draw after ten second draw pink =200c Green = 215c no draw remember I’ve kept this on and turned up so some heat soak now , paper shows second temp after use was hard to get a pic in use Minivap Red = 230c pic shows unused and paper the after use reading bottom of bowl same as all So the mighty has convection if you let it get to temp then load quick and use , the pics show it’s an oven compared to Minivap . Same with the Fierce which is good for bong rips but not as good as sipping like the mighty is . The fierce also drops temp fast when ripped the mighty keeps up . Healthy rips know and fix that issue if sent back I cba works good for bong rips .The Minivap keeps flavour much much longer especially with the basket as it hangs and does not touch the sides or bottom = just hot air goes through. Eventually it does do a bit of conduction from air I hope this explains why I say I prefer the minivap , I don’t hate the mighty it’s just not used as much now . You can also see how the Healthy rips control of heat is all over the shop My next experiment is basket and capsule temps , I think it’s interesting , maybe boring to most idk .. growinggold
Do you feel the minivap offers more economy with the hits as it bet the temps up when your rip. Unlike with the mighty which keep temps the whole time. Sometimes when I use the mighty and do jobs it can sit at high temperatures for while before my next hit essential wasting flower. Arthur Mix
@growinggold The Minivap comes with a large and small basket.so uses less than the mighty. I’ve not done a direct load with Minivap and I don’t intend to, see no need . I use the small one and it’s perfect for me .The mighty you can use a cut down pad to reduce capsule size but it will cook it even when not drawing. The Minivap does not do that as much , it doesn’t rush you . As you say the mighty carries on cooking .
