I'd imagine there are the mouthy minority, the die hards who'll refuse but tbh when UK started to team up with USA in the last wars I gave the idea of an Irish passport great consideration. I'll be taking full advantage of our wee country's political situation and give Boris and his gang the two fingers, get me and the family one and pull my head back underneath the parapet. For those who are not aware NI residents can hold either or both passports UK (non EU) Irish (EU) No waiting in non EU queues at the airport or taxes, result!
