Great stuff. I remember it clearly. I also went in to the Dutch Experience in Stockport as I lived there at the time.

The law has always been ridiculous since The 1971 Misuse of Drugs act. Sadly with all the scare stories perpetrated in The Daily Mail, we are further away from any change to the law then they were then.

And this is the rub: I went to (one of) the first "proper" organised rallies in London to Decriminalise Cannabis in 1998. It was promoted and organised by Rosie Boycott, then editor of The Independent newspaper. It was a great day.

A few years later, after all the "Skunk" scare stories, she quickly retracted her views and almost apologised for her ignorance and said publicly that Cannabis was harmful and she was wrong.

She ended up in the House of Lords and running a farm in Somerset. Though not before being banned from driving for 3 years for being drunk behind the wheel not once but twice in 2 days. Oh the irony?
