Religious Groups Proactively Involved in Continuing Prohibition

Good Afternoon,

Would like to hear of experiences from people who have or had contact with members of religious community groups who are proactively supporting prohibition of cannabis use.

Of late it has come to attention that there is sufficient evidence of certain religious groups particularly evangelical style Christianity having powerful roles and employment within local communities and using these roles as a springboard to launch their views on particular subjects where their education is sparse, or in fact completely biased to the collective thoughts of the religious community they represent.

We have found these groups are major donors to the Christian wing of the British Police (CPA).

The link is strong both ways with the groups receiving favour when launching local education initiative through schools in the area of the force they support.

There is strong evidence for the need of unbiased education in the subject of cannabis, medical or recreational being taught by the right people and particularly to the correct audience.

As an ex-Evangelical CoE Vicar, I can confirm what you say. The influence of certain Evangelical groups is frankly sinister. They are drawing strength, and probably cash, from their fellows in America, and that is seriously scary. Look how they've managed to overturn Roe v Wade in terms of the Abortion laws in the USA. Be afraid, people; be very afraid. These are dangerous and fanatical people, every bit the Christian counterpart of Isis. They would love to impose Old Testament ethics on our land. If I get time, I do plan to write a counter attack. Their views do not sit well with the Scriptures, and its relatively easy to argue for the right to get high from both Old and New Testaments. In fact, the New Testament forbids prohibition, and labels it a "Blasphemy".

Thank you for your input Arnold.

It is indeed sinister, and dangerous. Interfering with the status quo and manipulating current law to further their end.

The upsurge in this fanatical faith is fairly recent and in significant numbers with powerful control through local and social media.

Money seems to flooding in from many directions; from the States as you describe. They are a brotherhood and non-conformist, it is foreign. This is something we can do something about, we can see them.

@Baba Blacksheep hi, what do you/they make of the mentions of kaneh Bosm (cannabis) in the book?

Moses finding the burning cannabis bush that was so resinous it didn’t disintegrate in the flames was probably the first mention on it, which is when he gets the recipe for the anointing oil and the idea for decarboxylation.

Jesus seemed to be promoting the use of this recipe, which we are reminded of at Christmas (ointment service) when we (consecrate) infuse the body of (Christ) the ointment and the blood of the ointment into the host (bread and wine) in memory of him.

It baffles me as to what possible other interpretation of the virgin birth there could be if not referring to sensimilla (unfertilised buds).

i wouldn’t be at all surprised if the gifts from the wise men were of frankincense, myrrh, and Jerusalem gold.. probably not dissimilar to Acapulco gold, Swazi gold, Columbian gold etc.

It would be odd if it was a reference to metal as the recipient seemed otherwise preoccupied with the idea of mutualism.. not so much the accumulation of wealth.

No offence intended, any thoughts on the matter welcomed.
