Hey guys

did anyone listen to James O'brien on LBC today?

Talking about legislation of all drugs and how there was some sort of push from top coppers and ex coppers.

Don't think it will happen in my life time, was a pretty interesting hour tho

It certainly seems like the Rozzers couldn't give a shit about small, private grows round here. One person complained about a friend of mine having a grow on the go (neighbours, huh!), only to be told "Not a police matter". I kid you not  In public they say they are hot on drugs, but in private its a no-investigate crime from what I can see. I know of at least four grows within a spit of me, never had a hint of a bust. Not going to trust this, but neither am I expecting an unwanted visit. God knows it would be easy enough to trace me from what I've posted on just this site over the years.

But Hey, let's be careful out there people! (I miss HSB, it were a top cop-show)

I like most of what they are doing and the fact that it's hard to bleat about the legal side of things with someone who knows how flawed the legal system is in relation to prohibition. When ridiculous laws are criticised by those paid to enforce them, those laws must surely be on the way out.

Barry Coopers arguments with the demented morons on Fox news have always amused me ,although I'm not sure he's still with LEAP.

Hard to argue with what LEAP in the US says in response to the question'Why Legalize Drugs?' :

'We believe that drug prohibition is the true cause of much of the social and personal damage that has historically been attributed to drug use. It is prohibition that makes these drugs so valuable – while giving criminals a monopoly over their supply. Driven by the huge profits from this monopoly, criminal gangs bribe and kill each other, law enforcers, and children. Their trade is unregulated and they are, therefore, beyond our control.

History has shown that drug prohibition reduces neither use nor abuse. After a rapist is arrested, there are fewer rapes. After a drug dealer is arrested, however, neither the supply nor the demand for drugs is seriously changed. The arrest merely creates a job opening for an endless stream of drug entrepreneurs who will take huge risks for the sake of the enormous profits created by prohibition. Prohibition costs taxpayers tens of billions of dollars every year, yet 40 years and some 40 million arrests later, drugs are cheaper, more potent and far more widely used than at the beginning of this futile crusade.

We believe that by eliminating prohibition of all drugs for adults and establishing appropriate regulation and standards for distribution and use, law enforcement could focus more on crimes of violence, such as rape, aggravated assault, child abuse and murder, making our communities much safer. We believe that sending parents to prison for non-violent personal drug use destroys families. We believe that in a regulated and controlled environment, drugs will be safer for adult use and less accessible to our children. And we believe that by placing drug abuse in the hands of medical professionals instead of the criminal justice system, we will reduce rates of addiction and overdose deaths.'

I hope they become more active over here
