Al Swearengen
I'll be back , I still love the city but I completely agree with Shogun . Things went down hill, expensive and a lot less fun when the euro came in. Amsterdam was one big party every corner you turned. My friend had a hotel on the Prinsengracht , was described as faulty towers in some guide books. We use to sit outside the hotel from morning to night and just have the craic. Most of the guests would just sit their partying with us. Best seats in town they were, I miss those days
Rock Couch Lock
Love the city lived there for the best part of a year, and the architecture and sights do wonders for the senses. Agree about it becoming more sanitised since the euro, but hey thats the way of the world, you can always find sleazyness if you go out looking for it it's just less obvious now try Zanndam for some sleazy action.
