watched an update about some the things that hubble has been discovering last night, and one was the discovery of light waves moving and illuminating a nebula, i think in the tarantula nebula in the large megallanic cloud(dwarf galaxy orbiting milky way).

The light comes from what is called a Cepheid variable star(RR puppis), which dims and brighten over a period of 40 days, because of this you can actually see the light passing over the nebula as its excited and glows, because of the 2 different brightness's you can see the light in bands

its incredible

obviously because the cloud of gas is so big it takes time for the light to move over it allowing us to see it.

same principal as this but on a much much much much much bigger scale!!!!
