fruityjuice101
Made for 1280x1024 resolution. Unfortunately to make them small enough to fit onto this site a lot of the quality is lost. If you would like me to make one for you, just let me know your preferred style (wavey, jaggedy, etc) and the sort of colour you want, as well as the desktop size of your PC. fruityjuice101
This one is badly affected by the reduction in file size...

fruityjuice101
This one is just to spin you out. I made it for those late night trippy stone sessions, set it as a desktop background, the longer you stare at it, the more twisted faces you will see... Father McPot
Excellent! Some of them even look a little like cosmic nebulae. What you use to create them?
fruityjuice101
Thanks bud, It's a program called Apophysis. You can get it from the net, shareware. Definitely worth playing around with. Your main buttons are Ctrl+B to generate a batch of 100 random fractals, then Ctrl+M to open the mutations window. Inside of the Mutations window you want to right click and select High Quality, you can get a better idea of the available mutations like this. On the left in the main window you can then scroll through the 100 generated fractals and on the right (in the mutations window) you can get an idea of the "quality" of those random fractals - ie the best one to work with. Once you've selected the fractal from the main window, you will see the mutations in the mutation window. Click your way through it until you find what you want - clicking a mutation of a certain characteristic will generate others with more of those same mutations (ie in this way you can shape it.) There are different variations for mutation - like Linear, Random, Sinusoidal etc. Start off with Linear and work your way through. Once you have clicked one it will generate in the larger, main window. To manipulate it further - under the title bar, select Flame, here you can edit the colours of the image - click on Gradient and the rest is fairly self explanatory. Clicking the area where it says Rotate in this window will allow you to manipulate several other settings - Hue, Saturation, Blur etc. Again under the title bar and in Flame is another useful tool - Editor, clicking this will show you a breakdown of the fractal and you are able to move and manipulate it further by moving triangulated points. It's a good way to start anyway. HTH Edited February 12, 2008 by fruityjuice101
