mr. clean
Morning chillers. I need a strain that satisfies a few different criteria. So far, I have a few different outdoor grows and 4 indoor grows (only of auto-flowerers indoors, though) under my belt. I want to step it up to a nice indoor grow in time for Christmas. Space is at a premium (height is limited to 3 feet) so I was thinking of trying out some LST having been inspired by Blab's epic torture diary. I've got a bit more horizontal space than Blab had, though, and a bit more light, so it won't be as extreme. I'm after a strain that: 1.) Has a more up-y sativa-ish buzz. 2.) Has decent potency 3.) Doesn't grow too tall -- I'm going to be torturing it to keep it low anyway, but even so I won't be able to handle much over 1.5-2 metres at most) 4.) Doesn't smell too much -- I've got a home made carbon filter powered by a small rvk, but it won't stand up to cheese, for example. A little bit of smell leakage won't matter too much as we live in the sticks, but I'd like to keep it down if possible. 5.) Will cope well with LST and torture. 6.) Is available in a reliable feminized form -- the reason for this is that I haven't got time to grow out seeds, then sex, then clone, then grow-dry-cure in time for Christmas. 7.) Has an OK yield. 8.) Has a short-ish flowering period, ideally 6-7 weeks but can probably go up to 8. I know that this is a 'holy grail' type of request, and may well have to compromise on some elements in order to get others. I've been looking around and was intrigued by Dutch Passion's Flo. Has anyone grown this and, if so, have any information on it? (couldn't find anything in the grow diaries on it). Tiki and ACE have some strains that would work well if I had more time, but no fems, so the time is a constraint. Any suggestions or recommendations? Danklord
Dutch passion is an excellent seed bank. I grow euphoria from DP regularly and it fits all your criteria. It's fairly short, has a nice uppy buzz tailing off into a mild body stone hours later and is around 15% thc. finishes in 7 weeks too. I'm still using clones from a packet of 10 fem seeds i bought 2 years ago so its pretty bloody stable too, i've never seen it hermie. Saying that Flo looks like a nice strain too. I'm a wee bit concerned as the torture chamber is in my home office and, while it doesn't matter if there's a bit of a pong in there, the better half won't be too happy if it starts ebbing towards her office. FAI
I would disagree about the reliability of DP Danklord. I'm definately with smoketilluchoke on his thoughts. Do a search of 'dutch passion feminised' on 420 and have a read of what comes up. If you definately want to try Flo (or any blue line for that matter), then personally I think you have to go with DJ Short. ATB
Guest Tyler.Durden
Grew some PowerPlant(regular) from these two plants hermied and were cut early in flower and i have found very immature seed growth in my (shity) 8 week crop. I'll be sticking with serious seeds and Mr Nice for the forseeable future, not that im blaming DP for the general shitiness of my grow but for a few quid more the results of the better seeds seem more than worth it, do mr nice's widow maybe?. ATB I'm not disagreeing with anyone but i have grown Euphoria for 2 years now and never had a problem. Def worth reading up on feminised seeds just so you knol the risks but if you grow them well and avoid stressing you wont be have any probs. mr. clean
If you definately want to try Flo (or any blue line for that matter), then personally I think you have to go with DJ Short. Having done a bit more research, I'd have to agree (on Flo, anyway). Unfortunately, most of the places you can get DJ Shorts' seeds are sold out of all his stuff, let alone the Flo. A friend's come through for me, though and spotted me some tiki Bella Ciao beans. It means compromising a little bit on the sativa bias, but I can live with that. I've decided to avoid fems. I'll just grow out a few and hope to get a female.
