Survived stupidly small pots, ridiculously early plant outs, over feeding, under feeding, my fists of ham and fingers of butter....

Sherbert, cookies and cream, candy dawg, blackberry gum and a light dep wedding glue fem. All utterly excellent in their own right, despite my lack of experience, skill and intelligence. A must for any garden grower. Top work people 

I'm not sure how the next two weeks will pan out, but I have three choices, a) I can keep them here in the flat and put them under a 4ft household fluorescent bulb for two weeks, b) I can take them to our greenhouse which has it's own supplemental lighting and heating but is a 20 minute drive away or c) I can plant them straight into their final pots (30 gallon fabric) outside, and just see how it goes. I did buy a tent with a Spider Farmer LED light last year, but due to electricity prices here in Spain, and the fact that it's sunny as fuck, I sold it. Any suggestions will be gratefully received. I already have seedlings coming up on my plot from the trimmings I used as a mulch but I don't think the day length is quite long enough yet for autos to really get going, so I'm not really keen on option c. 

I should add that, I am extremely grateful to @Seedstockers-Markfor supplying the seeds, but I would also like to make it clear I am not going all out to win this competition, in fact I will go as far as to say I don't want to win it, the prizes would be better received by others and I still have 3kg of weed from last year, so this is still experimental for me. I doubt that I will be using any fertilisers for these autos and I am also hoping to get away with not watering them very much. April and May can be quite damp here in Catalunya, and after over-watering autos last year, I don't want to be making the same mistakes again.

The season of 2022 is almost apon us so it wont be long before us gorillas are out playing in the mud again, and getting at 1 with nature.. exciting times folks 

Firstly massive thanks to @Seedstockers-Mark and the team for putting on the comp, and providing the beans, I salute you sir   I will put all my love and devotion into doing you guys proud and seeing what we can do with these vars here in the UK..

Currently in the fridge awaiting there outdoor adventures with the wonders of mother nature and the big light in the sky..

location... so these girls will going on my knotweed plot this season.. for anyone thats followed my previous diarys will know this as my main plot but for anyone new reading this its an established plot that Ive had for a few years now and I've grown some lovely plants here over the seasons.. the ground here is pretty shitty, very clay based and rocky but over the years with plenty of work, ammendments, and a few odds and sods added its much better now..

Its a south facing plot in the middle of a huge patch of knotweed. This is really what makes it possible to grow here as this shit grows big tall thick and fast so makes for an ideal cover and shields the winds quite well without the compromise of air flow.. very easy to maintain  and often keeps me busy right through the season to keep it under some sort of control.. im rambling now but let's blame the big bastard banger I just smoked with my morning coffee so the plan is to wait till things warm up a lil before I get these beans wet.. I still have some prep to get done but im gonna need to wait a lil longer as its all I bit open still so needs things to start greening up a bit before im comfortable moving around over there.. ive been making visits here and there laying down some dry ferts over the last 2 months, feeding the birds is a  new approach in the hope they will help with the fight against the fuking nasty slimey gastropods (slugs) that nearly wiped me out last season.. just been putting up some feed trays for them and they are certainly munching it.. there lots of robins here and being ground feeders I hope that will feast on these fukers before they reach my girls.. I will also be throwing pellets down again as its the only sure thing to stop these slimey bastards.. im not gonna fuk about as I haven't got much time to start replacing multipul plants this season.

These girls will be feed organically as as when needed with FBB, BM, SOP, COMFREY plus some added nutrition from bit and pieces I import to the plot that I forage from forests and woodlands.. more on that later maybe 

Well thats it for now you lovely people, I just needed to get this started while I've got some time on my hands..  im sure there will be ups and downs with plenty of fun and games as per usual but ill do my best to provide you good folk with some entertainment as we move through the season..

Recieved the much needed 420l fabric pot .

Nice and strong material well made aswell.

Had some merch thrown in lovely jubbly! 

Filled it up with 6 50litre peat free compost and 10x10 litre coco blocks rest is horse manure top soil mix.

Nutes wise: vitax Q4,fbb,bonemeal.

Nutes mixed in layers and all been left to settle for last week rain has been good my way helps break down in the soil abit before plant out.

Finished pot:

Put seeds in to germinate about a week ago 48 hours later all seeds germed and theyve been under a light for 4 days now.

Will get some pics in a few days when theve grown a bit more currently on first set of leaves.

Getting 17/7 light schedule.

Time for another show this year and of course its going to be a huge plot again..

We are doing a plot visit tomorrow so a few pictures will be put up then.

Already cleared and dug up few week ago so it's a case of just dropping extra compost and topping up of ferts..

Cages already assembled to so less of a job later on..

Beans are being popped tomorrow u der a 300watt cfl dual specto kick em off..

This is the first time I’ve tried Seedstockers, so big thanks to @Seedstockers-Mark for the beans. I hadn’t got a clue what Mark would be sending me - I was praying it wouldn’t be a sativa strain as I don’t get on well with them. It would have been a bigger bonus if they were fast versions. So I was punching the air when he sent over some Cookies Fast Fems and some Gelato 41 Fast fems. I tried a couple of fast versions (Green Poison from Sweet Seeds) last year for the first time and was impressed with the earlier finish time (late Sept rather than late Oct) so looking forward to seeing how these new strains fare.

I’ve only been growing since 2018 and have done some Dinafem diaries in the past so hopefully I can keep these girls alive to finish a diary.

The girls will be growing in my garden, getting as much sun as possible. I also have a couple of greenhouses, so use these when we have wet weather; otherwise they’ll be outside sunning themselves as much as possible.

I’m using fabric pots again, and Biobizz All Mix. I used this compost last year for the first time and was really impressed with it. I don’t think I had to use any fish mix/bloom at all with my autos as the compost seemed to hold nutrients during the whole grow. 
 

So this is the first time I’ve tried one of the “Cali” strains - it’ll be interesting to see how she copes with the UK weather. If anyone else has tried them, let me know how you got on with bud rot, etc. My first year of growing, 2018, was a freak year as we had that glorious summer. Since then it seems to have been battle of the mould!

Anyway, enough rambling. Last Sunday, I popped the beans in some water for a soak for 24 hours. On Monday I sowed them. 
 

On Friday, the Gelato was the first to pop her head above soil. And yesterday, the Cookies said hello to her new world.

Didn’t get any pics of the germination process but soaked he beans for 24hrs before putting them in between wet kitchen towel in an old Chinese dish.

They we’re going to be left vegging for another week but due to the weather and work constraints (plus I’m going raving for the first time in about 15 years at the weekend) I decided that I’d plant 5am this morning.

All look ok fair root bed and haven’t shown signs of wilting this far.

I watered with a half mix of the grow nutrients that were supplied by @Seedstockers-Mark and put about 5 litres in each hole.

not long now and will start to get lots of content up 

But today the fast cookies and fast gelato 41 went into germinate good ole bog roll layers in a ice cream tub inside the hot airing cupboard .

So far prep wise ive dug in topsoil/ horse manure mix that i made aquiring it else where with some coco for good measure.

Gota get the cfl bulbs out will use them till there 1st or 2cnd set of leaves appear then bang them in a green house till there ready to go out.

so I finally managed to get my plants out. It was a bit of a mission to say the least.

we had searched our local area for somewhere suitable and think we may have found a little gem

We scouted it out with a drone first. It’s a small island that is truly inaccessible. You have to sneak into a large yard just to get to the river

then we had to use a few ladders (I did fall in, the mud does stink) to obtain access.

anyway, we got to put plot with about 20 plants. 5 of the fast versions, cookies and gelato (lovely) a few cuts of candy dawg (7 or so) a cookie and cream clone as well as my mum ball and a revegged dosi.

Went with the auto as I don’t want to mess about with light dep but always a bit of a risk outside.

Weather forecast is looking banging for the next few weeks so it should have a decent start to life!
