<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:14px;">Well a bit of a latecomer to the Dinafem X Intense Nutrients grow off show but finally here we go. <img alt=":yahoo:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_yahoo.gif" title=":yahoo:" /></span>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:14px;">First of all a big thankyou to <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="87875" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/" rel="">@Dinafem-Mark</a> and <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="111787" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/" rel="">@Intense Nutrients Matt</a> for making this happen and supplying the seeds and Intense nutrients Organix range. <img alt=":notworthy:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_notworthy.gif" title=":notworthy:" /></span>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:14px;">I've been looking forward to this as i've never grown any Dinafem before but these Blueberry and Ocean Grown cookies sound delicious, also new to the Intense Nutrients Organix range although for my current grow in flower i have been using Organix Grow and Bloom with excellent results so far and the plants seem to love it. This grow i will be using the Organix Granules, Grow, Bloom, Foundation and Runzyme kindly sent to me for this competition by <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="111787" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/" rel="">@Intense Nutrients Matt</a>. <img alt=":yep:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_thumbsup.gif" title=":yep:" /></span>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">

</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:14px;">As a quick rundown this grow will hopefully be just 1 each of the Blueberry and Ocean Grown Cookies in compost, ighting for veg will be T5's, 250w and 400MH, mixed spectrum 400w HPS and a 315w CMH 930 Agro Lamp for flowering in a Scrog.</span>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:14px;">This grow will be started in my DR90 tent for i expect most of vegging and then the girls will be transferred into my main 90cm x 90cm x 210cm Growdrobe for rest of veg then flowering.</span>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:14px;">Only one seed has just broken ground so far so tomorrow will be Day 1 for her, i'm sure the other will appear anytime just now. <img alt=":yinyang:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/yinyang.gif" title=":yinyang:" /></span>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:14px;">Before i start the diary here is a rundown of my setup, equipment and methods used. New eqipment has also been purchased for the DR90 tent as you will read below, so all new environment and things for this grow but all should be good.</span>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">

</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:16px;"><strong><em><u>SECRET JARDIN DR90 TENT &amp; INTAKE/EXTRACTION.</u></em></strong></span>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">

</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:14px;">So this grow will be started in my Secret Jardin DR90 tent, i've owned this for around 10 years but this will only be my second grow with it so its virtually new and kept in its original bag, as some of you know i usually grow in my 90cm x 90cm growdrobe but that is currently occupied with a grow in flowering for a few weeks yet. So same size tent as my normal growspace but a little less headroom. Now i used to use Variacs to control the intake/extraction but i have just purchased a SMSCom Hybrid controller to control the environment in there. The Hybrid is a superb device and does its job perfectly controlling the temps in there. When i used to use Variacs i sometimes had to slow the fans further at light off in cold times but this Hybrid controls everything light on or off to keep a stable temp at all times. The Intake and Extraction fans controlled by the Hybrid are both 5" Rucks although the intake is not as powerful. The Hybrid did cost me just under £250 but its worth every penny in my opinion <img alt=":yep:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_thumbsup.gif" title=":yep:" /> it also has a feature where every hour at only light off it will crank up the speeds of the fans one notch just to remove that extra moisture in the air that builds up at lights off, i can see this being very useful in flowering when a high RH is not good, this feature does not have to be used and the unit comes complete with a shade to cover the sensor if not required. Fans are completely silent with no humming whatsover like the Variacs.</span>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:14px;">The Hybrid has solved the variable temps in the tent and this means i can leave it and forget, good thing too in summer with higher temps it will raise the fans speed on its own to keep temps stable. </span><span style="font-size:14px;">The growdrobe is actually a walk-in wardrobe with 3 brick walls and the door so i suppose this explains why the growdrobe runs cooler than the tent although its in the same room.</span>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:14px;">The Carbon filter is a 5" Rhino Pro and everything is connected up with Phonic Acoustic ducting.</span>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">

</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:14px;">A pick here of my DR90 and Air Cooled Hood connected. &gt;</span>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">

</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<img alt="large.5dbcd93f76be3_DR90tentsetup.jpg.a3" class="ipsImage" src="https://www.uk420.com/uploads/monthly_2019_11/large.5dbcd93f76be3_DR90tentsetup.jpg.a3b74ae215e3e7525103877c37022bcd.jpg" /></p>

<p style="text-align:center;">

</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:14px;">And my new SMSCom Hybrid controller which fully controls the environment silently. &gt;</span>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">

</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<img alt="large.hybrid.jpg.3a972577a1c059bd51b989c" class="ipsImage" src="https://www.uk420.com/uploads/monthly_2019_11/large.hybrid.jpg.3a972577a1c059bd51b989cccc1e9717.jpg" /></p>

<p style="text-align:center;">

</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<em><span style="font-size:16px;"><u><strong>LIGHTING FOR TENT- SEEDLING/VEGGING. </strong></u></span></em>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">

</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:14px;">The lighting for the tent in eary veg will be a </span><span style="font-size:14px;">Maxibright T5 4 tube fluorescent, 96w of power (24w each tube) and measures 59cm(W), 37cm(D) and 6cm(D), on/off switch and is wired to a Maxiswitch 2-way contactor (10Amps) and Grasslin timer, i have 2 of these units and i really recommend them for vegging as the keep the plants short, give off little heat and the light spread is great, i've vegged for 3 weeks using these units in the past and the result was very stocky healthy looking plants, they seem to love the light spectrum. </span>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:14px;">Later on in veg i will swap the T5's for a 250w MH then a 400w MH, after that maybe a 400w mixed spectrum HPS all in a 5" Air-cooled hood.</span>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:14px;">Pic of one of my T5's setup in my main room. &gt;</span>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">

</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<img alt="gallery_46705_4338_441605.jpg" class="ipsImage" height="562" src="https://www.uk420.com/uploads/gallery/album_4338/gallery_46705_4338_441605.jpg" width="1000" /></p>

<p style="text-align:center;">

</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:14px;">So the tent is ready to go, temps at light on even under the 400w MH is no more than 26c, light off around 21c. Once vegging is nearly done the girls wil be transferred to my main growdrobe, set as below. &gt;</span>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">

</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:16px;"><strong><em><u>GROWDROBE &amp; INTAKE/EXTRACTION.</u></em></strong></span>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">

</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:14px;">The room is a converted walk-in wardrobe, The drobe measures 3ft x 3ft 7ft and covered top to bottom in the Orca Grow film, everything is covered including the shelves and door. Easy to put up as its much stronger than mylar and almost impossible to tear, no glue or paste was used in the room as i stapled it on with a heavy duty staple gun. It's very bright in the room and the Orca is very easy to clean as spillages just wipe off being as its waterproof.<br />
	Temperatures are always stable at around 27c lights on, about 22c off. Intake is a 5" twin speed Ruck fan fully controlled by a 3A 0-240v Variac and the extraction is a 5"Ruck fan with STR Voltage stepping fan controller with a 5" Carboair carbon filter connected to 90 degree bend and Acoustic ducting. Air circulation is x2 6" clip on fans. Thermometer/Hygrometer. There is a steel Scrog net i made to fit the growdrobe which will also be used this grow once the plants are in there.</span>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:14px;">This grow the soil will be the Clover Multipurpose compost, only my third time using this but my previous grows had no issues so i'm going to carry on using this for now. <p style="text-align:center;">
	<span style="font-size:14px;">Nutrients will be Intense Nutrients Organix Grow, Bloom, OG Granules, Foundation and Runzyme kindly supplied by <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="111787" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/" rel="">@Intense Nutrients Matt</a></span> <img alt=":notworthy:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_notworthy.gif" title=":notworthy:" /></p>

Expect extremely thick and heavy spiky-looking buds with large calyxes, a rarity that ordinary Kush genetics don’t generally have. She’s indeed so beautiful that even us, the Dinafem team, can’t stop staring at her.

This is how Blueberry Cookies was born: a tasty fruit pie with intense nuances of wild berries dancing together in a cake-like, Indica background. While growing, buds give off a strong yet fresh fruity scent. However, after the curing and drying, it turns much sweeter, more or less like smelling pastries.

				This strain provides U.S. cannabis enthusiasts with a breath of fresh air because she still keeps the traditional Kush background intact thanks to the OG Kush genes in her. Something in between the typical diesel scents of the U.S. family and the innovative sweet and fruity tastes, similar to those of pastries, that are killing it right now across the States. This perfectly balanced blend makes Ocean Grown Cookies a great choice for seasoned palates looking for new and surprising flavours who don’t want to give up on the intense aftertaste of Californian Kush hybrids.

					The high delivered by Ocean Grown Cookies can only be described with one word: devastating. Her crushing THC levels of around 20% and her almost non-existent CBD content (approx. 0.1%) make her particularly powerful. Her psychoactive effect is incredibly potent, narcotic, and long-lasting. Expect a gentle blow of euphoria that goes straight to the head and turns into a nice feel of physical relaxation over time. Powerful, hard-hitting, and sedative, in true Californian style.

However, given her medium size and bushy form, she’s the perfect candidate for growing indoors. By meeting her basic needs, we'll easily obtain great results with her. <p>
	Ok seeds arrived in the post this morning so thank you goes out to <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="87875" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/" rel="">@Dinafem-Mark</a> and all at <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/71638-dinafem-seeds/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="71638" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/71638-dinafem-seeds/" rel="">@Dinafem Seeds</a>.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I will be running <strong>Dinafem - Quick Gorilla</strong> and <strong>Dinafem - Ocean Grown Cookies. </strong>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	All seeds will be planted starting with the Ocean Grown Cookies and a few weeks later followed by the Quick Gorilla.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I will be growing in Coco from start to finish. I will be doing a few pot ups and flowering some of the plants out in 11 litre Air Pots. Veg time for the Ocean Grown Cookies will be 8-10 weeks or when the flower cab has free space. Grow style ie scrog, xmas trees etc I have not decided on yet.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Nutrients of coarse is being kindly supplied by Intense Nutrients <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="111787" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/" rel="">@Intense Nutrients Matt</a>, I will be using the base nutrients, and some calmag. There will be no additives at all, including microbes etc, as the idea is to show how the plants can grow with the basics.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Light source as usual for me will be 100% leds from <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/108277-diyleduk/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="108277" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/108277-diyleduk/" rel="">@diyleduk</a>.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	So with all that out of the way lets get this show on the the road.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I have taken all 5 Ocean Grown Cookie seeds and put them into small pots containing moist coco and will put them in a warm dark place until they surface.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Using tap water atm and the background EC is 0.4 to this I added Calmag Agent to reach EC0.6 and PH 5.5.. At a later date I will most likely switch from tap water to rain water from the water butt in the yard. The rain water will go in a res and be sterilized as normal with a little pond UV Sterilizer.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The Diary will follow along the same format as usual, more photos, less crap and just relevant information to keep the diary clean and easy to view.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	That's it for now, have fun everyone this should be a fantastic competition and keep the community on uk420 buzzing.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Toke…
</p>

<p>
	Hi all. Better late than never. Been meaning to get round to this but had to wait for the space, so here we go.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The Dinafem x Intense Nutrients grow competition. I chose Dinafem Cookies Autoflowering to grow for the comp as I knew I'd be pressed for time.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I've placed all 10 seeds into a very light mix of Intense Foundation, the dosage is 5ml / L so I've gone in at 50% and mixed 2.5ml into a litre of warm water to soak the seeds.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I'll be leaving these to soak for 12 hours at which point they'll go into kitchen roll with the remaining foundation mix to hopefully help them get a good start.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<img alt="large.5e1099c058ef2_CookiesAuto.JPG.6f9b" class="ipsImage" height="664" src="https://www.uk420.com/uploads/monthly_2020_01/large.5e1099c058ef2_CookiesAuto.JPG.6f9b77f9e57cb56811aa4f1553ad6fe5.JPG" width="1000" /></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<img alt="large.5e1099bf2a2fc_CookiesAuto3.JPG.b05" class="ipsImage" height="664" src="https://www.uk420.com/uploads/monthly_2020_01/large.5e1099bf2a2fc_CookiesAuto3.JPG.b052f05584267cf317e624a902832a3d.JPG" width="1000" /></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<img alt="large.5e1099be2f36e_CookiesAuto2.JPG.572" class="ipsImage" height="664" src="https://www.uk420.com/uploads/monthly_2020_01/large.5e1099be2f36e_CookiesAuto2.JPG.572587358574d5c5d57877931694eb28.JPG" width="1000" /></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The seeds all looked really well matured and well sized so hopefully I should get some good germination results.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I bought some of my own Foundation to use in another grow I have going atm, got to say so far its been really good stuff, it wasn't cheap but I'm getting a good vibe from it and I don't mind paying for quality. So I'm really interested to see how it goes on these autos.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	First up, thanks to <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="87875" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/" rel="">@Dinafem-Mark</a> and <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="111787" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/" rel="">@Intense Nutrients Matt</a> for getting together and giving us load of awesome free stuff!
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I started 2 of each quick gorilla and OG cookies last night in levingtons M2 compost with a sprinkle of OG granules mixed. Hopefully I'll see life in 4 - 5 days.
</p>

<p>
	<img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-extension="gallery_Images" data-fileid="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/gallery/image/568244-quick-gorilla/" src="https://media.invisioncic.com/s329134/monthly_2019_10/large.15725577070521.jpg.7165b10dcda28816b4c6a22ef35800ef.jpg" alt="large.15725577070521.jpg" /><img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-extension="gallery_Images" data-fileid="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/gallery/image/568243-og-cookies/" src="https://media.invisioncic.com/s329134/monthly_2019_10/large.15725577069880.jpg.0461f431c844a9a1aed42dd0e3fbdcfc.jpg" alt="large.15725577069880.jpg" /></p>

<p>
	They'll start off in the flower area while it's on a veg timer, then when I flower the current clones I'll move them into the 40 X 100 veg area under a 65W QB where they'll stay under they get too big or the other stuff is finished... 6 - 8 weeks... Plenty of time to do a bit of training on them.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Current temps in the flower area are 19 - 23°C at pot level, this is the only temp I'm interested in <img alt=";)" data-emoticon="" height="20" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_wink1.gif" srcset="" title=";)" width="20" /></p>

<p>
	Aye aye folks it's about time I got something goin here so after a false start in dec where I learned that growing in a garage in winter in Scotland is a stupid idea I finally managed to get the tent indoors
</p>

<p>
	The tent is a bit knackered and old and held together wi duct tape <img alt="lol" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_lol.gif" title="lol" /> but hopefully still serviceable <img alt=":yep:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_thumbsup.gif" title=":yep:" /></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	First off a big thanks to <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="87875" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/" rel="">@Dinafem-Mark</a> for once again tolerating the bollocks that comes along wi one o my grows and to <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="111787" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/" rel="">@Intense Nutrients Matt</a> who is away to find out the bollocks that comes wi my grows <img alt="lol" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_lol.gif" title="lol" />
</p>

<p>
	So lets have a look see what I got to play with
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-extension="gallery_Images" data-fileid="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/gallery/image/577952-20191024_202151jpg/" src="https://media.invisioncic.com/s329134/monthly_2020_01/large.20191024_202151.jpg.0667d7bdf211a9f59ef004df83ca7a70.jpg" alt="large.20191024_202151.jpg" />
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Hmm I need to get a new camera soon methinks
</p>

<p>
	That is an awesome package to be fair I think Matt sorted me with damn near the whole coco range of nutes nice one cheers <img alt=":yep:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_thumbsup.gif" title=":yep:" /></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-extension="gallery_Images" data-fileid="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/gallery/image/577953-20191024_202208jpg/" src="https://media.invisioncic.com/s329134/monthly_2020_01/large.20191024_202208.jpg.4e83db5b2992f9c3863c70b4e20397c7.jpg" alt="large.20191024_202208.jpg" /><img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-extension="gallery_Images" data-fileid="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/gallery/image/577954-20191024_202224jpg/" src="https://media.invisioncic.com/s329134/monthly_2020_01/large.20191024_202224.jpg.6cabcce1e43c8dbce676d55cf58af8cc.jpg" alt="large.20191024_202224.jpg" /></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	And here we have some seeds from Mark
</p>

<p>
	now because I tried to get going already resulting in abject failure the Moby dicks are gone none left so they will not feature
</p>

<p>
	I was left with one sour diesel which has popped and sprouted fine and an Auto Gorilla
</p>

<p>
	Unfortunately because I haven't had a proper grow for a few years now am a wee tad rusty and over soaked the coco this time resulting in all seeds cracking ok but only one Auto gorilla making it above ground so right now I have one sour diesel auto and one gorilla
</p>

<p>
	<img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-extension="gallery_Images" data-fileid="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/gallery/image/579329-df2jpg/" src="https://media.invisioncic.com/s329134/monthly_2020_01/large_df2.jpg.70ae80248fcdab75d979b8ddea37db3f.jpg" alt="large_df2.jpg" /><img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-extension="gallery_Images" data-fileid="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/gallery/image/579328-df1jpg/" src="https://media.invisioncic.com/s329134/monthly_2020_01/large_df1.jpg.119e37884c67476d44d9647023a95413.jpg" alt="large_df1.jpg" /></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	This should hopefully be rectified soon as my remaining gorilla and Auto cookie have now been planted and will be joining these two soon I hope barring any more McHazy fuckups <img alt=":wassnnme:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_whistling.gif" title=":wassnnme:" />
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	They are under a 250w hps at the moment and they seem happy enough if a wee tad stretchy and that will get cranked up to 400w when the time is right
</p>

<p>
	I will be following the feeding schedule that came wi the nutes and I have high hopes for this stuff after seeing some of the other grows with it <img alt=":yep:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_thumbsup.gif" title=":yep:" /></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	So that is pretty much where I am just now nae bad I reckon a few fuck ups before I even get the diary started that has to be a new record for me <img alt="lol" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_lol.gif" title="lol" /></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Aw the best abody
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Foo Fighters just because <img alt=":yep:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_thumbsup.gif" title=":yep:" /></p>

<p>
	Hi all
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Bit late to the party but I'm finally ready to make a start on these!
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Big thanks to <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="87875" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/" rel="">@Dinafem-Mark</a> for the seeds and <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="111787" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/" rel="">@Intense Nutrients Matt</a> for the nutes <img alt=":)" data-emoticon="" height="20" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png" srcset="" title=":)" width="20" /> hopefully I can do these some justice!
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Without further ado...
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Seeds were dropped into water on 9th December at 6pm.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I'll let them sit here for 24hours, then will give them a push to let them sink for another ~3 hours before placing into root root cubes. I'll try keep them around 22degC for the first few days until they pop their heads.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I've dropped all 10 seeds with the aim to run 4 of each strain.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	My setup
</p>

	So.......Kenny is back in the game <img alt=":yep:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_thumbsup.gif" title=":yep:" /><img alt=":yep:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_thumbsup.gif" title=":yep:" /><img alt=":yep:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_thumbsup.gif" title=":yep:" /></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	After listening to <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/103812-badbillybob/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="103812" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/103812-badbillybob/" rel="">@badbillybob</a> and <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="87875" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/" rel="">@Dinafem-Mark</a> and very very much against my own thoughts on the subject I quietly continued with my troublesome blue cookies whilst I awaited new beans.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I let the water drop as a 'sink or swim' last ditch attempt.....they decided to choose life and finally searched for the water.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	(A faulty PH pen was causing me problems as was my inkbird - on the inkbird topic make sure the 'cooling' function' is set as far as you can from the temp you want as the compression switch turns both plugs off or constantly on - chattering also fucks them up)
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Now the PH is steady, they have decided they want to live......so I thought I still owe <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="111787" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/" rel="">@Intense Nutrients Matt</a> and <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="87875" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/" rel="">@Dinafem-Mark</a> the diary
</p>

<p>
	(not comp winning but Zen is a man of his word - so here it is)
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I have just flipped to 12/12 while they are looking semi healthy - billybob was right.....I just cant throw 8 weeks of electric out the door and I refuse to let my new illness stop me anymore.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Photos to come.....Just wish I had photo'd them during the shite phases as you would not belief the turn around I am experincing - long may it continue <img alt=":thumsup:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif" title=":thumsup:" /></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Welcome to the first of my two competition diaries.<br /><br />
	I'd like to thank Intense Nutrients Matt and Dinafems Mark for supporting me, all of those chosen for the competition and the site in general.<br /><br />
	Cheers chaps! and I hope we can all do your products justice.<br /><br />
	This diary is one of a pair. It will be running 3 Orange Juice and 3 Blueberry Cookies in compost using Intense Nutrients Dirt Grow and Dirt Bloom. The second will follow using a different plan,technique,technology but same update layout that I'll explain at a later date.<br /><br />
	In here I wanted to put together a relatively simple but effective grow "recipe" that people with minimal experience can follow to achieve good quality results.<br /><br />
	I'm going to pretty much ignore anything specific around EC or PH etc etc as a focus, although its addressed in a passive way later.<br /><br />
	Many compost growers ignore it, rightly or wrongly, anyway in the early days at least and to be absolutely honest I still do in the main.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<img alt="large.20191014_154953_compress76.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-extension="gallery_Images" data-fileid="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/gallery/image/565736-20191014_154953_compress76jpg/" src="https://media.invisioncic.com/s329134/monthly_2019_10/large.20191014_154953_compress76.jpg.39ab67389569b48fb2ad9862e12c7eda.jpg" /><br />

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I'll be using low budget equipment and a few cheap add in's here and there. Infact the only real luxuries here are Dinafems seeds and Intense Nutrients products themselves both of which I couldnt normally stretch to. So I genuinely appreciate the supply of both, <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="87875" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/" rel="">@Dinafem-Mark</a> and <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="111787" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/" rel="">@Intense Nutrients Matt</a> thank you again.<br /><br />
	Getting everything laid down in this intro will take some effort but the updates and diary itself will be the absolute opposite.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I've added a little colour here to break up the word count. (They're not just filters, I do it "proper" by working through layers,adjusting contrast levels,saturation,highlights etc etc.) <br /><br />
	So grab a cup of tea, sit down and bear with people, bear with.<br /><br />
	Let There Be (cheap) Light -<br /><br />
	For this grow I will be flowering using 2 base model Mars Hydro LED units (125w actual each) as they are of a type commonly used first time around for those with very limited budgets.<br /><br />
	Amongst more established growers they take some flak but I've grown great flowers with them. The common mantra of "buy cheap buy twice" is often spurted towards most things budget but some people simply have no choice and I'm one of those people.<br /><br />
	Vegging will be done under 3 x 35w CMH G12 with digital control gear in a DIY board. They put out alot of light for 35w and three of them are plenty enough but they are all switched so I regularly only use 1 or 2. A few pics -
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The board is mounted under the flower deck as a false ceiling type of fitment to ensure not to much heat gets forced upwards. The diy reflector is earthed and there is also a perspex diffuser to protect the plants from exploding single jacket bulbs. Although, I've used them for years and never had one fail let alone blow.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Best stay on the safe side as always though.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Altogether the whole grow will be done with a maximum of 345w draw making it quite economical really.<br /><br />
	Prevention is Better Than Cure -<br /><br />
	To be happily floating through a grow only to discover one day you have Thrips or Spider Mites whilst having zero knowledge on the subject is hard to get your head round and many people panic watching their crop turn to aphid crap or dressed up like a Christmas tree in webs.<br /><br />
	We've seen that happen time and again here at UK420 and it happened to me not so long ago after a few years of growing. I went of researched and am back sharing that basic knowledge here.<br /><br />
	I will be using a preventative routine right from the start as a deterrent to those pests. That will come in the form of a weekly Organic Cold Pressed Neem Oil emulsion misting all through veg alongside Diatemacious Earth dusting right of the bat and all the way through.

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<br />
	In a following post I'll lay out how to use both correctly and how to create simple micro barriers on your plants to deter insects crawling up and around them.<br /><br />
	New or inexperienced growers adopting a basic routine like this right from the start means they will not only have everything at hand to treat the plant if those crawly freaks turn up but they will also know the correct techniques needed to switch from preventative to treatment mode and deal with the problem, no dramas.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I've also found plants appear to love Neem Oil and have rarely had such healthy looking plants.

	My Chamber of Green Dreams -<br /><br />
	I grow in a DIY timber built cabinet with a full length shelf splitting it into two. It's a simple 2" x 4" timber carcass covered with tounge and groove cladding that's sealed then lined with the fossilized remains of a long dead tent.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Having the low power veg lighting under the flowering deck timed correctly means the cabinet holds very stable temperatures lights on or off.<br /><br />
	The dimensions of each space are as follows -<br /><br />
	Veg space 120cm x 90cm x 90cm<br /><br />
	Flowering 150cm x 90cm x 175cm<br /><br /><br />
	Extract and Filtrate -<br /><br />
	My 6inch Ram filter and 6 inch twin speed fan are hidden in their own spot above the grow space extracting through the cabinet ceiling. It leaves a more adaptable space for lighting adjustment and growth height and really helps fight the noise.<br /><br />
	Compost and Nutrition -<br /><br />
	I'll be using standard Levingtons multipurpose compost that you can get from B&amp;H homestores or pretty much any similar store.

<p>
	The only amendment I will add is Diatemacious Earth. It's the second use of it here so is good economy.<br /><br />
	When dry, DE guards against soft body insects but it brings with it a few extra general advantages whilst being inert in all other ways.<br /><br />
	Those free bonuses are -<br /><br />
	- Excellent increased moisture retention.<br /><br />
	- Good buffer against minor PH changes.<br /><br />
	- Once wet it slowly breaks down delivering Silica that all plants love.<br /><br />
	Those bonuses are gained simply by adding DE at the start and forgetting about it.<br /><br />
	If you want to try it you can get it online easily. You need to buy "food grade fresh water extracted Diatemacious Earth". A bag this size is £10 and will last many grows. 500ml of Neem Oil will outlast you so plenty of value for money there to -

	H2O -<br /><br />
	All water will be from the tap that's aired and bubbled for at least 48hrs before use. As we're very close to the aquifer source our water is only lightly treated but is harder than a Rhinos horn on viagra.<br /><br /><br />
	In The Beginning -<br /><br />
	Germination will be in an ice cream tub with wet kitchen roll.I will do a short tutorial before my first true update.<br /><br />
	Pots -<br /><br />
	I will use 3 inch pots for seedlings filled with Levingtons compost as it's not a hot mix.<br /><br />
	The seedlings will be kept warm by my grandads good old fashioned plastic water bottles with the bottoms removed retaining the lid as a simple humidity control.<br /><br />
	Once at a suitable size the plants will be potted up into 6 inch pots and will go on to finish in square 11 ltr pots.

	Training -<br /><br />
	What I'm going to do is not commonly used and is a little difficult to explain in words whilst being very simple. I have quietly tested it a few times though and it works really well. It combines elements of supercropping,HST and LST and results in a very compact plant yielding 8 equally sized colas.

	Diary Updates -<br /><br />
	Once I got this intro done, I decided to challenge myself and leave out as much ancillary guff from updates as I can, focusing 99% on detail. Ive spent a fair while putting together a layout with the aim of presenting that information for quicker reference access.<br /><br />
	Having to dive through multiple pages of a 10+ page diary scanning for randomly placed facts and figures in an update to find one small piece of information can be frustrating at times. That may just be me though!<br /><br />
	Here is the layout I'll be using. It will be used for every update on the same day every week -<br /><br />
	Date -<br /><br />
	Time of day -<br /><br />
	Grow day -<br /><br />
	Flower day -<br /><br />
	Light schedule -<br /><br />
	Light timings -<br /><br />
	Temperature Lights on -<br />
	Lights off -<br /><br />
	Humidity -<br /><br />
	Feed and levels per litre -<br /><br />
	Preventative and supportive foliar feeds -<br /><br /><br />
	Update specific details -<br /><br /><br />
	Accompanying images -
</p>

<p>
	<br /><br />
	Training progress -<br /><br /><br />
	As soon as the seedlings are established I will begin using it and use it the whole way through. I know I'm going to struggle using so few words <img alt="lol" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_lol.gif" title="lol" /><br /><br />
	                 -----------------<br /><br />
	Just incase anyone really wants to do something similar to this, here are the ingredients for everything other than hardware (tent/lights/fan/filter) -<br /><br />
	Levingtons Multipurpose Compost.<br />
	(Found pretty much everywhere)<br /><br />
	Intense Nutrients Dirt Grow &amp; Dirt Bloom. (Available through the site sponsors and widely online)<br /><br />
	3 x 3inch pots.<br />
	3 x 8inch pots.<br />
	3 x 11tr pots.<br />
	(Easy to find online or in stores with garden depts)<br /><br />
	3 x Plastic Water Bottles.<br />
	(Kids school bags or back of your car from pesky kids <img alt="lol" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_lol.gif" title="lol" />)<br /><br />
	Freshwater Food Grade Diatemacious Earth.<br />
	Cold Pressed Organic Neem Oil and Horticultural soap.<br />
	(Both the above are available on Amazon/EBay)<br /><br />
	Misting bottle.<br />
	Organic Seaweed Extract.<br />
	Epsom Salts.<br />
	20ml Syringe.<br />
	(Online is simplest for all the above but also found widely in garden centers,stores etc)<br /><br />
	Phew!!!
</p>

<p>
	<br />
	I dont know about you but I badly need a cup of tea, a Tunnocks bar and a lie down but that's it all done and laid out.<br /><br />
	The only thing left to do is to get some seeds germinated and that will be done in the next few days which I'll cover in a short tutorial.<br /><br />
	Thanks for reading this through and I wish the best of luck to all the other entrants.
</p>

<p>
	Hello everyone and welcome to my diary for the Dinafem / Intense nutrients competition
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I was chuffed to bits when I got selected to take part in this contest, but I've been blown away by the generosity of both <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="87875" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/" rel="">@Dinafem-Mark</a> and <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="111787" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/" rel="">@Intense Nutrients Matt</a>. When the postie delivered me a box i could hardly carry I thought what the hell could this be? I wasn't expecting the range of nutrients that has been supplied so it was like christmas morning when i opened it. Many thanks to you both
</p>

<p>
	In a previous Dinafem grow diary I posted a pic of a new groom I've been building in my loft. Mark very kindly offered me seeds to christen it in style. I choose Purps#1 and quick gorilla. When i got accepted to the comp he also sent me some blueberry cookies so Ill be growing the 3 strains. 2 quick gorilla, 1 blueberry cookies and 1 Purps#1.
</p>

<p>
	I only hope i can do them justice. Now lets get this show on the road!

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I started by soaking some root it sponges in water. Squeezed out any excess then popped the seeds in the hole, covering it up with a piece picked off from the bottom. Labelled them up then into my small prop wrapped in a towel and sat on top of my veg cab for warmth. Fingers crossed they'll all show their heads in the next few days.
</p>

<p>
	I will keep them in the veg cab for the next few weeks and then they will be moved up into my new groom in the loft. Im very nearly finished and should hopefully have the equipment installed by next week. Heres how its going if you'd like to have a look.

<p>
	I have finally got my arse in gear and got some of the seeds wet for the contest. I have a lot going on with my own Pineapple Skunk strains I made in my small set up at the moment so I am only able to do a couple of plants.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I am not in this to win it as I have so many seeds here I want to pop including a big selection of Dinafems and I also won a load of Intense Nutrients stuff for COCT so the free seeds and nutrients are more than enough for me.<br />

</p>

<p>
	It’s going to be fun trying out some new nutrients and growing out some new seed plants and keeping a small diary of the progress in here. <br />

</p>

<p>
	Big thanks to <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="87875" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/87875-dinafem-mark/" rel="">@Dinafem-Mark</a><a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="111787" href="https://www.uk420.com/index.php?/profile/111787-intense-nutrients-matt/" rel="">@Intense Nutrients Matt</a>for sending me the freebies, hopefully I can get some nice photos along the way to show case the seeds and nutrients.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I have put 2 OG Cookies and 1 Orange Juice in some wet paper towels for now.

	Already a winner with all this great free stuff and then along came the seeds <img alt=":hippy:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/hippy.gif" title=":hippy:" /></p>

<p>
	This is going to be a basic soil grow under a 600w hps. I will be growing 2 of each Quick Gorilla and Blueberry Cookies. Only just got the seeds so will be putting two of each into soak soon. So let the fun begin. Like I’ve already said already feel like a winner just with the supplied seeds and nutrients but will still be trying my best and watching others with interest <img alt=":bong:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/bong.gif" title=":bong:" /></p>

</p>

<p>
	I have choosen OGC for the first run of the competition (blue cookies will be the next entry)
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I put them in for a 24hr soak......all have popped......Onward to the paper towels....we have three bursting to go....two lagging behind
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I have put the three front runners in the root roit cubes as per usual and given a chance to the laggers (very unlike me)
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	They are in the prop now under a T5......fed a nice glass of plain water about 24 c....I placed them round the edge as the prop is already on for another project and I dont want them too wet at this stage.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Now seabiscuits......run for that finishing line <img alt=":rofl:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.uk420.com/boards/uploads/emoticons/default_rofl.gif" title=":rofl:" /></p>
