  1. Hello , hello, and welcome to my watery wonderland, roll up roll up (quite literally), and come and join Billy's circus of dreams. There will be some laughs, a bit of craic, some big ole ganja plants and a reserviour full of watery fun........ This year i have decided to join the sweet seeds competition again, and this time i am choosing 3 classic strains. Here they are im doing 2 of each, and the strains will be Jack 47, cream 47 and sweet afghan delicious. i did the SAD last year and enjoyed it so much im doing it again. it produced dense solid buds from bottom to top of the plant and tasted divine. The Jack 47 and cream 47 are unknown quantities, so it will be nice to test them out. im hoping the cream 47 has the power and the jack has the taste, but time will tell. i am going for something different this year, this year im going to try and grow a few trees...probably one of each strain, depending on how my germination goes. ive been killing a lot of seedlings lately, no idea how, or why, but i will try extra hard this year, because i want them all germed so i can pick the best ones for "redwood alley". My plan is to put them all into the system, see which ones take swimming lessons and which ones dont, and keep the 3 best . My room. Its about 2.5 wide by 4.2 long, and has a 9 pot, DIY, top fed, rdwc system in it. these are 60 litre totes, which are fed my a 8000litre pump on the 5 pot side , and a 4000 litre pump on the 4 pot side. Air pumps are 60 litre ones, and all pumps are Hailea. 2 golf ball airstones per pot. These arent really needed, but the more the merrier as i say i have 5 lights in there, all of them are dimmable ballast HPS, 600 watts. my fans are a 10 inch intake and a 12 inch extract, run off a simple DIY variac controller. Filter is currently an old rhino pro, 1 metre long, which is going to be changed out very shortly with a new one. Not a rhino tho, a Carboair. Germination. i will be soaking them overnight in a shot glass and then into kitchen roll till roots sprout, and then probably into the prop with some coco, till they have enough roots for the system. This is the same way ive been doing it for years, but i used to use the root it cubes, im not this time, as ive had some damping off lately in them, and no, before you say it, ive not been over spraying them. So they are in shot glasses as we speak, and i will report back when the excitement starts. Bring it on!!!! 'Mon the trees!
  2. Hi and welcome to my diary in the 6th Sweets seeds grow competition. Thanks to the Sweet seeds team for sending the seeds and hosting this. Looking forward to watching all the entries in the coming months. I have gone for Cream 47, Indigo Berry Kush and Mohan Ram. The Mohan Ram I have grown before, its a fantastic smoke. Cant wait to try the others. Starting life in seedling trays with seedling compost, then potted up into 10cm pots with coco, rooted out then into final 6 litre square pots. I will be using Bionova coco a/b along with some rhizotonic. Like to keep things simple They are starting off under 110w cfl propagation light then into the 2.4 x 1.2 x 2m tent with an Adjusta-watt 400V DE hps, starting off at 400w the building up to 1000w with supplemental led lighting when in flower. Tent has 6 inch Q-Max fan with Phresh filter. So I soaked all 12 seeds on Saturday for 20 hours in water at 24degrees, then planted into the seedling trays in a heated propagator. 48 hours later 11 of the 12 have all sprouted. Happy days. One IBK to show, not given up on her yet. Few pics to get started. Today is day 1

  7. My Sweecret laboratory. 5th Sweet Seeds competition grow diary 2018/19 Hello all you people out there and welcome to my Sweecret laboratory Sweet seeds have been kind enough to donate to me 3 packs of seeds to grow out in this competition which I am ever grateful for. A big thankyou to Tommy and Jaypp for all the work in running the comp and making it possible Here are the strains I will be attempting to get to harvest, with some nice fat smelly flowers hopefully: Cream 47 I will be growing this because.....I originally wanted to grow the Cream Caramel but when I saw this, crossed with AK47 I thought I'd try for the best of both worlds. I once grew 8 Femaleseeds auto AK outdoors, went on holiday, came back and they'd all rotted so I never did get to try it So now at least I'll get a taste of AK and the much talked about Cream Caramel mixed into one. Sounds like a nice balanced 50/50 high from the strain description and that's right up my street for when mates are round. Crystal Candy F1 fast version Strawberry chewing gum and candy shop sound good to me, got a bit of a sweet tooth. When I read "It is possible to obtain extractions of exquisite quality and incredibly pleasant aroma from the buds of this plant", well I just couldn't resist. Never grown a fast version yet either so I thought I'd give that a try instead of the original. Green Poison CBD Another much talked about strain so I just had to try it, but mixed with CBD on this occasion. Maybe I'll try the original some time. Delicious, intense, sweet fruity aromas all sounds good to me. So does fast flowering and heavy yielding. If it's a heavy yielding strain grown under optimal conditions then I can at least hope for a half decent yield for my efforts. Sweet Pure CBD Well my usual grows are 6 plants in a 120 x 120 tent so I would have been growing 2 each of the above strains but I've decided to go with just 4 plants this time, maybe in larger pots and give them a chance to perform better with more breathing space. I thought I'd purchase some high CBD and throw one in there. I'm quite enjoying the fact that THC/CBD mixes and high CBD strains are hitting the market lately. Works wonders for me last thing at night for sleeping. Equipment, medium and nutrients. Root riot cubes. Nursery bags and 2-1/2" starter pots. 1.5L square plastic intermediate pots. Maybe 6L square plastic 2nd intermediate pot. 9L or 12L fabric pots for finals. If I decide on 12's I'll pot up through the 6's. Clover MP compost Perlite Canna coco pro TNC MycorrMax Bio Bizz Root juice Shropshire seaweed (not sure where the sea is in Shropshire ) Bio silicon Bio Bizz Fishmix Bio Bizz Bloom Epsom salts Propagation and early veg. DIY veg cab measuring 60 x 55 x 115 Veg cab 4" RVK extraction with passive ducting from a DIY radiator box with 1800w thermostatic controlled oil filled rad set to 1200w. 6" desk fan for circulation Large heated propagator with no lid, containing some sand in the bottom for distributing the heat and also for wetting to aid humidity. Gravel tray with propagation lid. Dimmable 135w HLG Quantum board V2 Late veg and flower. 120 x 120 x 180 tent in an uninsulated attic room. I've insulated one side in the eaves but the roof and other side are just plaster so I have a duvet and some large bubble bubble wrap draped over the tent roof to keep heat in. TD Silent 6" 2 speed extraction with 6" Rhino pro filter Intake from 2 x 4" RVKs into 6" ducting through a y piece and reducers. One from the rad box and one from the veg cab. The one from the veg cab can be slowed to control temps and humidity in both the cab and the tent. This is a recent adjustment to the environmental controls so I'm still testing it's efficiency. Electric blanket for keeping the roots warm, plugged into an Inkbird thermostat with probe. Circulating fan is a 3 speed air purifying fan with carbon filter removed and negative ion generator switched off, so basically a 3 speed fan. What's happened so far I would normally only propagate for 2 weeks or less in the veg cab, then move into the tent because I find the environment easier to control in there. However, I've made a lot of adjustments to the intake/extraction lately, as mentioned earlier, so that I can grow these in the cab for 4 weeks while my current grow is finishing flowering. I expect a few problems because I need to keep the humidity up in the cab while trying to keep it as low as possible in my tent. I'm going for it though as I can't really wait until the current grow is finished due to other commitments next spring. This grow needs to be finished by the end of March 29/11 So the old prop base was set to 8 of 10 on the dial and the gravel tray placed in on the intake side that draws warm air. 4 root riot plugs, already damp, straight from the bag were placed in their plug tray and the prop lid put on. Board set to about halfway on the dimmer, so about 105w and 32" above the plugs. 30/11 9:30pm Temps were 24-26 C and humidity 80-99 over 24 hours so now was a good time to get things going. First seed out of each tube was squeeze tested for firmness, pic taken and straight into it's plug, point facing down and about 10mm down and the hole plugged. Prop lid on, sealed at the vents with tape and left 24 hours. 1/12 After 24 hours I gave 2ml of water to each plug just to make sure they stayed damp enough. Here's the panel at 32" above the plugs 2/12 Gave the plugs a light misting of root juice to keep the tops moist. When I see tap roots at the bottom they'll go straight into their nursery bags of Clover mixed with a 1/3rd perlite and a sprinkle of Mycorrmax. Best of luck to everyone in the comp. I'll update when I see life
  8. Ladies and Gents - Welcome to my Sweet Seeds diary! I'll attempt to make the best out of the 12 strains I've selected for this grow. Here the 9 photoperiod strains Here the 3 automatic strains I'll be growing them in compost and will be using mostly Biobizz products along the way. In total, there will be 20 plants (12 photos and 8 autos) At some point, the plants will be divided into 2 grow spaces. The automatics will be growing under 20h light with a 400w bulb. While the photoperiods will get the bigger space with 600w light. I've placed them all into germination yesterday and hope the will show their heads in the next couple of days. Thanks again to Sweet Seeds for hosting another great competion and providing us with their delicious strains - Good luck to all the other competitors!
  9. Thank you Sweet Seeds for giving me the opportunity to enter this superb competition and a chance to win some wicked prizes. I have chosen to grow two Ice Cool, two Cream Caramel and two Cream 47. I hope I can fully do them justice. This is not my first grow but it is my first diary on UK420...and this is the first time using Growers Ark nutrients, so I am interested to see how they work out using them. I am using Canna pro+ coco. Growers Ark nutrients will be Root Tonic, A+B Grow, A+B Bloom and maybe Universal Traces if needed. The seeds have been placed lovingly with the up most care and diligence in pre-soaked coco @ ph 6 the water used was tepid with no feed added. For now they are in a DR 60 under a 200 w Cfl in a heated prop without the lid to keep them warm. When they have vegged and are ready they will be in a 2m square tent, lit by a Gavita 750, which I may get the wide reflector for. I will also add 2 x 315 w ceramic lights I am not sure which type I will be getting. Extraction at the moment is a 6" RVK matched to 6" Mountain Air filter this fan is controlled by a 5 step Variac. I will be up-grading to the Stealth Hyper fan when I flip as I would rather have too much extraction than just enough. Anyway enough of the chat and lets get on with the show.... Growers Ark Nutrients . The seeds chosen . Plant 1 Ice Cool. Plant 2 Ice Cool. Plant 2 Ice Cool. Plant 1 Cream Caramel. Plant 2 Cream Caramel. Plant 1 Cream 47. Plant 2 Cream 47. Just watch out for the Elephant's, i hear they like good quality Cannabis .

  13. Thanks to Tommy we have growth !! Seeds cracked yesterday picture taken 36 hours after soaking. I put the seeds into individual coffee filter papers, could have put them all in one but rather be safe than sorry. Filter paper wicks well and doesn't appear to hold on to the fine filaments. Cream 47 on its way. More to follow as we progress through.
