Hey everyone my first post on here. Just recently started my first grow in a 4x4 using a 600w HPS lighting setup. The amount of electricity being used by this has been some what a pain in the arse. So, ive started looking into LED's and come across the mars hydro line of budget lights. I've watched a few videos about the coverage of them and the power usage. The TS3000 which covers a 4x4 would use more than the HPS bulb. However, a TS600 covers a 2x2 and uses alot less power from the wall. Surely i could just use 2 x TS600? If anyone else has used these lights with a similar setup any advice would be appreciated, thanks!
Hi Guys, I'm Dave and I'm a noob to growing. Im finding it difficult to get information regarding cheaper LED brands as a lot of the brands mentioned on forums/youtube seem to be either exclusive to the US or not around anymore and certainly not accessible to me in the UK. So, to the setup so far: 4ftx4ftx6ft tent 5" rvk fan with 6" carbon filter attached for outlet 4" rvk fan for inlet plagron allmix root bags beginners mistake: 1 x Wappa, 1 x vertigo (auto), 1 x Mexican Sativa, 1 x ruderalis indica (semi-auto) and 1 x either cambodian or jam sensi... and yes I now know I shouldn't have gone for all different seeds, but they're about 6" tall now and I don't want to start again. I figured I'd just experiment this 1st time and use it as a learning experience and not be too upset about yield. I managed to get all the above for what I think is a good price (£200). the final thing I've been researching is my lighting and my eyes are finding it difficult to cope with reading screens most the day trying to find the best bang for my buck without getting fleeced. I've got an absolute max budget of £300 and I definitely need to go the LED route due to other means producing too much heat. I've been in-touch with Mars who recommended the mars2 1200W or the reflector 192. They seem okay, however, I'm not fully convinced as I've heard that 1200w lets out a lot of heat. Should i go for one big light to cover it all all loats of small ones? Heat is something i want to keep to a bare minimum and 300 quid is max. As you can tell ive only really found mars to be within my range and would really like to hear about other affordable trustworthy brands. I would really appreciate any of your suggestions. thank you Dave
Hey what up, wanting to know what pot size to use and how long to veg so in coco/perlite (60/40 mix) 9 clones currently in small 3 inch pots after showing roots in jiffys they will have to be under 130w of CFLs in 60cmx60cmx80cm for at another 4-5 weeks then they have 400mh or 600w hps to play with my set up is 120m x 120cm x 200cm tent planning on flowering with 7 plants 600HPS / 400mh parabolic canna AB, rhizo, pk13/14 hand watering POTS - 1.5L, 5L, 10L. can also get 1L, 6.5L(which seems very popular for coco) and 15L if needs be (but ideally not 15s) so i want to reach full potential with what ive got, i plan on topping and bending to fill canopy upto max 50cm height as these clones will pretty much double in height when flipped to 12/12 i was pondering what size i should pot up to and what to use along the way and how long i would need to veg to fill out the pots my thought, from the 3inch, to 1.5L to 10L with them been under the CFLs for those 5 weeks, then 400mh for 1-2 weeks, then flip them so what would you guys do ??
