Just want to confrim as im coming close to harvesting my first plant. What signs am I looking for. I believe its when about 70% of the tricomes turn amber, am i correct. Somebody told me a few dayz ago its when 70% of the pistils turn amber. Im confused. Clarification greatly appreciated. I can post a pic if required...

The pistils when around 70% brown are a ballbark sign of roundbout maturity but the trichs give the true picture.

When the trichs are over 50% cloudy/milky,that is generally taken as the best point for harvest.

Amber trichs are more usual to sativa strains but do appear on hybrids but more usually interspersed with the milky ones.

Well folowing your advice ive just harvested my first ever plant . A great experience it was too. She had been on 12/12 exactly 7 weeks today. All her composite parts are now hung up drying in my cupboard. Unfortunatly I had only been flushing her for 2 days, what effect if any will that have?

Sure Rockstar. It was a unknown strain clone that a friend brought round to me. I now know it was stolen by my friends during a riad on a local veitemenese factory.

I believe it was already in the flowering cycle when i received it. I guess it's had 1 - 2 weeks 12/12 before i got it as pistils started to show a day or two after I put her into my drobe.

Shes currently in peices hung up in a dark drawer with a pc fan for circulation. She'd had a mildew problem a few weeks back which id treated with a mild Bicarb solution.

After inquiring i decided to chop as about 70 - 80 % pistil were brown and crystal formation seemed to be slightly milky.

I cant post any pictures now cos im at work, but if you look on my Grow build thread, shes the 'Unknown Clone'. There is a recent picture on there showing her a day or 2 before the chop.
