I've got a small plant ending week 6 of 12/12. A little over two weeks to harvest according to instructions on the original pack. I'm keen to harvest a few buds to see what's the story. Is there any harm in sampling a half dozen or so of the top buds to see how they smoke? I've heard that early bud plucking reduces overall yield? What do folk mean by that. Will that reduce potency or will it just reduce the number of potential buds to be harvested. Any one have any opinions?

traditional way is to take some of the fluffier buds from low down on the plant. the plant will put on alot of bud in the last 3 weeks so taking it from the top would reduce your harvest more than taking from the bottom.

You reduce yield by reducing the amount of buds that are left to harvest.

I have done as you are enquiring about, in the past. You may be gagging for a sample but you will kick yourself....when you see how much those buds will swell up over the next couple of weeks.

Theres no harm in it but think about it as like saving money in an investment scheme , you can take money out early but you lose out as you make most of the money at the end . Patience will be rewarded .

i took a couple samples off at 4 weeks flower, its now 6 weeks and im already kicking myself, the ones next to the ones i plucked which were tiny at the time are now huge :|

definately wait til the end unless youve got a whole fuckload of plants and dont care.
