Ive used an old wardrobe and converted it into a new home for 2 yet unborn girlies! Check it out.. Took me a good 2 - 3 days in all, not quite finished yet but its getting there.. Im gonna need a few pointers, mainly with light leaks, Ive been scouring the site for an answer but havent found one yet..

Check out my Light relfector, Made it from an E40 fitting, one shelving bracket and a pc Case side panel!

lol.gif its not a toilet.. looks like a toilet from an old western.. one of those out-house jobbys lol.gif.. ive just read about using mastic/caulk stuff to seal the door and then slice it, perfect seal...
i like this idea... might try it!

any other idea;s towards the light leaks, the rest of it is sealed, its just the doors!

Hi Sj,have you had a look at Mr church's growdrobe,it might give you some tip's click me! all the best with it m8 wink.gif
Skinny_Jimmy
hmm inspirational... cheers for the link man smile.gif

I am considering the velcro option too
Skinny_Jimmy
Ive jsut black sacked the hinge on one side and jsut screwed the other door shut and caulked the whole of the door seal... looking pretty light tight except the middle of the door, this is my next problem now... Still thinking of what i could use thats gonna make it quite a tight seal, want this sucker air tight so my ventilation works better...

gripfill is more rubbery than caulk or silicone would be even better i might try that ive got a cubpoard with old loose hinges and that needs sortin for light lealage before i use it if i decide to

How stealthy do you need to be?
Skinny_Jimmy
well stealthy as poss, plus i need that door to be light tight as theres a window facing it and last thing is need is sun coming up and light hitting my babies whilst there still in the dark period.. had to many hermies b4 to chance this..
JGP
The best way to light proof your door is to glue and screw a door stop(piece of timber)round the inside of your cupoard flush with the back of the door.Velcros for fairies wink.gif

Use the stick on draught excluder that you can buy from any diy shop!

on one door put the draught excluder down the full length towards the back of the door and on the other door put it on the front edge!

When you shut the doors togeather is creates a double seal and also an airtight seal!

Cheap and works a treat! cool.gif
Skinny_Jimmy
cool, cheers for the replies guys... Ive managed to get it as light tight as poss, my old man had some of these rubber type things in his shop i managed to steal off him and theyve done it a treat... just need my fan and i'll be growing for long while yet... and JGP your right, velcro is for fairies! lol.gif

Its good enough! smile.gif
