hiya folks

this is far from a sereious attemp at micro growing

but the ultimate goal is to set up a mini scrog room using just cfl's for flowering and have a continuous mini supply of bud
all year round, and each plant 2 weeks between harvests.

i have got this cabinet set up, thats divided into 4 compartments

in it atm i have a durbanXearlybud cut that has rooted through, in a 1 litre pot (i think)

in 2 weeks ill add a white rhino, and so on, and i got some other mums to take cuts off
like trainwreck, sugarlaof, and c99

it only has 1 cfl in it atm cos i couldn't find some fittings, but im gonna add 3 more.

i also plan on usign the other compartments for mothers and clones

Hi mate - you knows I love a micro grow

Tuppence, don't go overboard with plant numbers - you'll just end up with a splifsworth from each plant

From experience, I'd reccommend a MAX of 2 plants staggered by a month. Because you have such a small space and low level lighting, they will not grow fast. Lots of plants eat lots of CO2 and it's almost impossible to give them what they need

Ask away if you need anything - I'd have 6 CFl's in that space ....or if you're feeling suacy, set up a 125W enviro - as long as your extraction can hack it

Sorry didn't realise you had 4 spaces - with that in mind, split 2 into 1 bigger box and light with an enviro - use the other 2 - 1 for mums, 1 for cuts

cant do that mate there made of metal and what you seeis what you get.

also there not originally here for growing, they were a part of the furniture

i think ill have 3 at a time in there

but there will be no upgrade to an enviro.. cos i dont have extraction atall
part from leaving the door open.

tbh, this was a very spur of the moment desichon, and the box was made in 10 minnuts
so idealy on the next 2 ill start the clones off even smaller at about toothpick size

im confident ill get some nice bud, as ive had cfl grown bud thats as strong as any other weed.
and one of my mates grows using cfls too
also im not after yield here, just a little baggy of nice smoke for a weekend every couple of weeks.
id be happy if i got 4-5g plant tbh

ive also found that stretch is upto 50% less when you veg a plant in outdoor sun (like this one)
and then flower under a light

i think the intenseity and consistancy of the light compared to outdoor light helps reduce the stretch.

Mate, If you can't get air in there I wouldn't waste your time tbh

If you get busy with the tin snips and a couple of pc fans, I can help you round all the micro grow probs you'll come across - but without an air supply I'd knock it on the head mate

n.b. growing under CFl makes no impact on potency whatsoever - I'll take the pepsi challenge with my flouro bud vs HID any day of the week - there really is no difference

not ideal, but i have no choice.
and liek i say i cant go cuttign these cabinets up

however

if icould find a way to power a mini fan to keep the air mooving that would be ace.

I'd get the bulbs as close as poss to the grow tips mate - cm or 2 away is fine. I reckon you'll mebbe get an 8th of smokeable bud for your efforts interesting to see how it pans out.

Hey CB, those are looking good how long are they in flower now?
My mate also runs with cfls but after 2 and a half weeks(on 12/12), the leaves are frosty and the smell is fairly potent but there has been very little noticable flower production.
Could this be down to the low watt bulb and its just a case of waiting or could it be a major problem and its time to give up?

If you could advise at all

Not meaning to rain on your parade but i would agree with blab, i've tried a micro grow before and the plants didn't like not having a supply of fresh air, your plants are looking really healthy tho so i guess its not going to matter all that much!

the door is open all day sp they get fresh circulating air throughout the whole day.

only when the lights are off, i have to close the door.. but the fan is kept on to keep the air circulating in the room at night.

they seem to be growign fine though
