A friend has offered me a wardrobe, very kind biggrin.gif
My question is, because i got a few strains on the go, and all stared at different time, i am having to juggle a lot of things. I have to move the plants i got in flower into a dark cupboard where they sit for 12 hours so that the plants i got in veging state are getting a good 20hrs of light.
What light would be best for the new wardrobe?
What would be best. Enviro light for flower or veg? or a 250w Sodium/halide for flower or veg?

Hope that makes sense?

Thanks.

May all your buds grow to humongous sizes, and your joints be full of thc.

250 watt HPS (Sodium) for flowering. thumbsup.gif Will beat the enviro easily.
scarface
the hps will destroy the enviros easthead, they really are absolutly no good for flowering mate smoke.gif
battlecat1135
use a blue enviro for veggin and your 250w hps for flowering. wink.gif
Good luck with the bb grow.
Peace.

Cool thanks everyone for that! be lost with out this site!

Blue spectrum envirolite it is! Do i need a ballast for them? or do they just plug straight into a socket?

sorry for all the questions, i just thought of another, is there a big difference in 125w and 250w?
easthead
apart from the price..lol.gif
easthead
sorry..lol.gif..they are self ballasting...doh!

We all said HPS and you said enviro?? 34.gif If you mean you are going to use a blue enviro for vegging and the HPS for flowering, that's about perfect. The enviro plugs into a standard E40 socket, and has it's own ballast built in.

lol.gif, yea. I already got a 250w hps. My new drobe is going to be the vegi-drobe! Ill keep the set up i have now as it is and use it for flowering. A Enviro will save alot on the old lecky bill and i wont have to run 250 hps for 20 hours a day!

Would you say that there is a massive difference in 125 and 200w? It is twice the price, but will i get twice the growth?

get 2 125w enviros instead of 1 200w then mate smoke.gif if the 200s are twice the price, id go for a 250mh if you can afford it though
good luck

I believe the 200 W enviro only produces about 30 per cent more lumens than the 125, so I don't reckon it's worth it.
easthead
thanks..i think 2 x 125 is a good idea...

thanks everyone ! great help.. guitar.gif

Hey easthead. I'm currently flowering in my drobe using a 125 red Envro and 2 regular 20w cfl's (energy savers). The 125w hanging from the roof and the 20w's fixed to a board positioned in the centre about an inch above pots. I reckon all together this gives me 11 - 13k lumen [10k(ish) from the 125w and 1k each for the 20w's]. Im not sure what spectrum the 20w's add, but they seem to like it. At first I wondered, even worried if i'd get a decent harvest, but 26 days in and things are looking execellent, loads of big hairy clusters coming from all the growing tips.

The great HPS vs Envro debate will always roll on. Its my first grow so I cant pass judgement yet, though I suspect the yeild would be much increased using a HPS. But in the confined quaters of my drobe the Envro's are performing well and im not disapointed at all. There easy to use and I can leave them without fear of burn out, and the envroment is easy to maintian. I could even increase to 200w cfl bulb now but things are just fine the way they are. Im expecting a couple 0z's of 4 plants...

Next time round I'll stick a 250w sodium & cool tube in there, set up SCrog and go for 500+ grams from 1 or 2 plants. Envro's are good though, I cant fault them atall for my first attempt and making some budZ... spliff.gif

thanks man,
I think because i don't want massive plants i am going for 125w enviro for vegi stage as i got the hps all ready, ill use that for flowering.
Good luck with grow. what strain is it?

Got two Fem GH Ultra Haze no.1 an' two unknown strains, albeit I believe on good faith that one of which is a fem DP Orange Bud. The other was a short & bushy, well developed clone. No idea what strain she is although the two unknown strains seem be on shorter flowing cycles as at 4wks they are more developed and frosty than the Haze plants. The Haze plants are like trees, one of which quickly started to get too tall. She had to be topped a week into flowering, subsequently theres gonna be no be cola on top. Learning from my mistakes... spliff.gif

It's a balance between capital investment and electricity cost and productivity.

A second 250 watt HPS would probably wipe the floor with two 125 watt enviros...
(and Joolz's will take a MH lamp)

Maybe I need to think about low light / slow vegging as an option ....

I only use fluorescents for seedlings....
