Hello All,

Going through my first outdoor grow in northern Britain. I have a modest crop, 4 female Jacky Whites. Started them from seed in early April and they've enjoyed some very good days of warm sunshine. I have one plant doing 12/12 and is in its third week of flowering. The buds seem to be forming nicely, but I'm a wee bit concerned at all this hit weather we're getting i.e endless clouds and rain. That said, greenhouse temperatures climb to a comfi 21C for a few hours during the day - even with these conditions - but can be as low as 12C in the small hours of the morning. Here in Scotlandm, we get a lot of daylight this time of year - it scarcely gets dark really. My question is: will the plants come along nicely after going through a continued overcast spell?

im a bit of a newbie but apparently the plants will end up with a decent smoke on just six hours daylight a day. thats just what i heard but i also heard that the smoke would be shit unless iit gets 16 hours of daylight a day. hope that helps soz but im just passin on info. iv only ever grown lowryder but i plan on doin other things next year. durbs

Hello,

thanks for those reassuring words.

How are you on week 3 of flowering on an outdoor grow? Are you covering them up for 12 hours or summit?

Yes, I'm force flowering two of my 4 females. the other two are in permanent veg state. I place the other two in large light-proof cardboard boxes at night and uncover them in the morning. Buds coming along nicely.

Temperature and light intensity not a problem, but what i'm concerned about is that the greenhouse environment won't allow enough UV through. UV light increases THC levels. Is it advisable to give my two flowering plants open-air sunshine in preference to a slighlty warmer but UV deprived greenhouse environment or is a mixture of both ie open air and greenhouse the best strategy for maximal success? Anyone got any opinions on this?

It would help somewhat if you place them out in direct light when you can. It'll harden the stems as well,as there isnt much air movement in a greenhouse.

But you are manipulating the photoperiod which is the best thing you can do,given your geographical location and it will ensure the plants finish properly even in the most mild of summers.

All the best with it mate. yinyang.gif
