Rummaging through my Expo goodies bag I discover I have a box of "Biddy's Sister". Cool! But I cannot find much info out about this one. I suspect it may be an outdoor strain, but apart from that (which may be wrong unsure.gif ) I know bugger all. Anyone got any info, you know the drill, stuff on genetic bcakground, perferred environment, flowering times, stature, taste, smell and high - yadda yadda blah blah blah burble burble burble......
Gotta love a cookie for lunch stoned.gif

Oh yeah, and a big thanks to Joolz and Mrs Joolz - 'twas from their fair hands said seeds were recieved - Yeah, Spot on peeps applause.gif

Hmmmmm
Also got some Big Sur Holy Weed seeds - any info would once again be very welcome, but I think its a sat? Could be wrong though.

Hi Arnie
I just harvested and smoked a Biddys Sister
indoor/outdoor plant, ready in about 55 days approx, mine went to 60 days and the trichs were just turning milky, didn't do a diary cos i fucked it up big time.....24 hrs light for 2 weeks, fucked timer...long story
nice smoke, i had W. Rhino and bs at the same time and i thought the bs was better than the rhino, nice smoke not too heavy but a clear head when needed if you know what i mean,
look here if you want to know a bit more, Jiveturkey has done a diary

She's very slow to clone and very slow to turn to flower mode, like two weeks to show preflowers but she does catch up.

These are things I'm learning about Biddy's Sister through my experience and she took a good week longer than Mazar to throw roots from the peat pots.

She's certainly catching up tho...... Oh yes!

I assumed it was a Biddy Early cross but maybe wrong there. The Biddy Early's parents were: Mother - early Skunk F2; Father - Warlock, but I cannot find anything on BS's parentage.

I had heard that it was like the BE but bred to be grown indoors instead but I can't remember where I heard that nor if it's right or not. Maybe someone else can shed some light?

I bet it will be good anyway, I have grown Biddy Early, Warlock and Exile and all three were great strains. The BE I grew outside aswell, it finished nice and early - one phenotype auto-flowering and finishing mid summer aswell. w00t.gif It's hard to keep as a mum due to the autoflowering but as they are a nice uniform strain, you don't mind starting them again from seed. smile.gif

Hi All,

The Biddy's sister is the offspring from the same female Early skunk as is the Biddy Early, but this time crossed with a Sensi Star male instead of the Warlock.
I expect it to finish approx. one week quicker than the Biddy Early but I can't give any guarantee yet, we will all know in September.
It should stay a bit shorter and will have a more couch-lock type of high although not devastating (i.e. very lazy but still able to snap out of it).
I have made it with the outdoors in mind, but suitable for outdoors does not necessarily mean that it's not good for indoors.
But yes it will flower under stressful conditions so it's (some pheno's are) as much of a P.I.T.A. to maintain as a mother as the Biddy Early is.

Hi Endless search,

As said in an earlier post, its Early Skunk x Sensi Star, so it has no Warlock in it.

Healthy, strong & resilient seedling growth. Incredible root groth. Very compact and sturdy looking. I can't wait to see if I have a mum!

Hi Funki,

True, it's similar overhere.
Only one of them will be done next week, most others will probably need to go upto the 3th week of October, quite a bit later than expected/predicted.
They have also grown much bigger than expected, >2 M high and almost just as wide so they need lots of sticks and wire to support the branches.
If they don't rot away the yield will be huge, but with this weather I'm holding my breath.
Fingers crossed (for both of us).

thanks for the response. unfortunately mine were eaten by deer early on in the season so they aren't as big as they should be but decent. sturdy plants by the looks. the male i pulled which didn't get eaten was huge with massive leaves quite a vigourous plant. shame on the harvest time but i suppose it'll test how mould resistant they are. cheers gerrit yinyang.gif

hi gerrit.
the biddys sister is progressing well and will probably be finished within the next 15 days. theres a bit of stem rot but thats been there a while but doesn't seem to be detrimental to the plants growth. there no rot or mould on any of the actual plant matter. smells tangy and citrus like at the moment. i like you am holding my breath as the weather is good at the moment

nice looking plant Funki thumbsup.gif , hopefully the weather stays as good as it has been lately until they're ready smoke.gif , great job mate! yinyang.gif
Gerrit
Hello Funki,

Did you managed to get them in mold free?
I've pulled dow'n my last/latest one at the very end of October cry.gif
Not much mold though so I'm still happy with the result considering the shitty summer we had.
Trimming will be quite the job since they turned out rather leafy due to the lack of sun and low temps in the last few weeks, so it will take me a couple of weeks before I know the yield.
I'll estimate approx 70 g. on the worst (bad/shady spot and completely surrounded) and up to 350 on the best (sunny spot and free standing on 2 of 4 sides).

I will see if I can get some pictures up later, got to bring their size down first.

Thanks man,
I did not have to do much though, other than roto-till the patch before planting and adding a little bio bizz the very few times it was dry long enough to water them.
The weather was shitty for flowering, but on a well drained patch you could not have better weather for vegging.
I think they would be a bit smaller and quicker to finish in a hot and dry summer like we had in 2003, which would have been nice because I like solid buds with not much work to trim.
This year the smoke is still nice, but trimming is a PITA and I will get no points for bag appeal.

Can't complain though, I did not get caught or ripped and the fear of rot proved worse than the rot itself sweatdrop.gif

Well - a bit of a delayed update! (hi everyone btw - it's been a busy year or so at work - left me no time for recreation social networking - I do that for a living now!!)... it turned out that the four I popped last year were males... but... I popped the final one earlier this year and am pleased to say it was a girl!

Sadly - I didn't get around to cloning her, which is a shame as she is the best genetics out of the crop - even without smoking I know she is a keeper (or should have been). I also flowered her very early - after only a few weeks of veg (3 from seed?) - too early really, so she is essentially a bonsai - with yield to match. Like a lowrider lol.gif. Next time I grow this - I will let her get to maturity so I can achieve something close to the yiled of Jiveturkey's! No grow diary - I have been too busy to grow, never mind catalogue my errors ;-)

She is covered in glistening buds though and has a really distinctive citrus smell - like honey and lemon cough syrup. I am gonna chop her any day now, as 90% of pistils are now red and trichs are getting amber.

So - I may try my luck again with this. Will post a smoke update in a few weeks if I remember...

I cropped my mini biddys sister.. here's a few snaps i took after I cropped (had a few issues with yellowing as you can see) - even thought the pics don't really do it justice - you can see the awesome frosting in some of the shots...
