hey all, was wondering if anyone could suggest a strain for a Mediterranean/north African climate? Temps here in summer are usually about 35C and at night, they go to about lowest 18C. Strain must be hardy/fungus/mold resistant and be able to live in dry conditions (no water source nearby) i will water about once a week and put some poly crystals in soil.. any help guys? if you suggest, pls try link me to a site that offers the seeds feminized, preferably in 5 packs. Use the shop here, it is good and a lot of people here get seeds from the shop. The link is in top right hand corner.

Try anything really, sounds like you have good conditions for growing apart from the dryness of the soil. Two seedbanks spring to mind, Ace seeds who are spanish breeders (check seedlist in shop), Afropips seeds whose beans are african landraces and crosses (malberry or durban or something)

because i dont want too many seeds and im planning a small grow, dont want to have to separate plants. also, what other autoflowering strains are there, apart from lowryder? i might try some in winter, we have mild winters. as for the dryness i was thinking of adding some poly crystals specifically for agriculture, iamafunkimunki recommended some, somewhere on the forum. as for seeds, i was thinking purple power from femaleseeds. its €17 for a 5 pack so its not expensive. any opinions?

Sensi do a Ruderalis Indica & Sativa, the Ruderalis brings the autoflowering, apparantly for the Sativa only 50% go auto which may not be ideal for a winter grow though. In summer all should finish and you'd get 2 staggered crops yahoo.gif I'd be tempted to forget the auto stuff though and grow a good mixed crop through the summer then sit back and relax! How about sensi's outdoor mix @ ~ a quid a seed?

NONE, really, only lowryder has that quick flowering. Others (ruderalis-based) MIGHT autoflower, but then again it may take 4 months, or not happen at all. And you might just end up with hemp. Definitely a risk you wouldn't want to take, esp. if you're thinking in terms of all feminised!
Lowryder is really a special breed.
It's potency isn't high, better than nothing, thoguh, although I hear that Lowryder2 is much, much better. Should be too, with those added Brazilian genetics.

Trouble is, winter light outdoors is not going to be enough to give any yield worth mentioning. (think in terms of 5 grams a plant! biggrin.gif if you're lucky!)
So unless you've done a seed run before, you'll just be throwing away fairly expensive seed.

(PS. But why bother with feminised, which can occasionaly give hermie problems?
If you can keep them in pots for 4-5 weeks, they'll show sex anyway, through the pfs, then you can discard the males.
If you have space to keep just one mum indoors (a small cabinet will do) you can have all the clones you'd ever want.)

As far as strains go, Hashberry, Hashplant, Lebanese, Maroc (there's a feminised hybrid too!), are all supposed to take the heat.

ye im considering maroc feminized from femaleseeds, due to similar climate. Btw, i want fem cos its a guerrilla grow and i cant keep em anywhere NEAR my house (my guerilla site is about a mile walk through thick reeds and bushes with VERY painful thorns (think regular thorn bush and multiply it by 3) i think theyre berry plants (?) if i have a hermie, ill just put a bag over the pollen pods and pollinate 1 or 2 buds, for seeds then ill have a go at planting in winter.
dr rockster

It's all good mate, bar the using hermie pollen as that will give rise to more hermies.

Lowryder 1 is just so,well...boring. Don't recommend it at all.Very ho hum buzz.

You've got a beautiful climate so you have the opportunity to grow something a bit special.
