Hello folks,

this is mine and my friends first attempt of making growbox. We never tried to grow some pot before. We used an aquarium, computer ventilator, thin MDF plate, telephone charger, some cable, energy-saving bulb (75W) and lots of folium.
Floor of growbox is kinda missing, but we're gonna put some mirrors (or somethin) there, we also have to tape folium a bit better, so the light wont come out.

Not bad for total newbies and 3hours of work, aint it ?

any suggestions ?

You may find your bulb inadequate if its a standard household bulb ?
Try lookin at envirolites or something that doesn't kick out too much heat - your space looks restricted.
A PC fan doesn't shift much air either.

Also don't use a mirror use a piece of wood or similar painted matt white.

Most of all don't give up you'll crack it.

Hi Juno. It's better to upload your pics straight to uk420, see "attachments" immediately below the box you type your posts into.

You seem to have used aluminium foil to line your box, which is not recommended. It doesn't reflect light all that well and can cause hotspots. You would do better to use a simple matt white paint.

It should work nicely as a vegging box, but you're going to struggle to flower anything in that box due to lack of height. MJ stretches like crazy when you go to 12/12. If you can, build a taller box for flowering - a wardrobe is ideal if you have one available.

Still, like you said, not bad for 3 hours work, and you're on the right track. Best of luck with it.

Well, light looks somethin like this:

I looked around in "growroom photo" forum, and most of folks have lights like that, so i bought this. It doesnt give out much heat, but i'm not sure whats best temperature for growbox. If it'll be too high, we'll make bigger hole for air to come in and we'll install another pc fan. But i think for that size of box, its quite ok (size: L60, W40, H~40).

We havent decided, what we'll put on the floor, but i think we'll put a piece of wood.

What about if we use baking paper, will it be better ?

Well, if we'll need more height, we can upgrade it with some plates around. But we''re not making some serious grow for now, this is more like a hobby. If if we'll get out for a smoke or two, so much better wink1.gif

Thanks for all infos, we'll report on every progress we'll make smile.gif

Allo mate nice job..
just one mod i'd make wether theres any point in a box this size i don't know.
If i'm right in understanding that ya air inlet is the smaller hole on the to of the box.
I'd try and find a small length of pipe around the same diameter as the whole.
Attach it to the inside of the lid some how.
With the end of the pipe finishing about 3/4cm from the ground.
This would give much better air circulation in ya bax...
Just a thought
Good luck:yinyang: .. yinyang.gif ..
