Hi very very new to this and maybe this is a silly question but here goes.

I have just bought a nft 205 for vegging, can i then go and buy the next size up which is the nft424 and transfer the vegg'd plants into my nft 424 and if so how do i do this as there will be alot of roots already formed in my spreader mat ...(i think). Is this possible?

TY in advance, Raul Castro

Theres no need to do that in NFT matey. They'll flower just fine in that setup.

and yes they'll be loads of roots, it'd be a right nightmare. Leave em where they are. Repotting is for compost. in NFT you'll just increase the feed strength. wink.gif

Cheers for the reply m8. So u rekon im best to buy another nft 205 and just do a rotation. Also how many plants should i be putting in a 205 tank if im vegging for 4 weeks and not doing a sea of green?

Thnx again for your help.

Hello m8.

Between 2-4 plants in that size nft.

I rotate my nfts the way you're thinking of doing. Get a third system and get a crop every four weeks. sweet.

Good luck m8 yinyang.gif

Cheers for the info m8. Dunno about 3 tanks as im kinda stuck for space. Was thinking about getting the next sized nft to fit more plants into and do it on a 8 week cycle. So 1 grow would have 3 or 4 plants in the nft205 and the next 1 would have 5 or 6 plants in the nft424.

Is it possible to do it this way or am i best just getting another 205?

I am getting my clones in the next couple of days and they are going straight into vegging for 4 weeks so i need to make a move and buy this other tank soon.

Yeah go for a larger one aswell if you feel you're ready. No reason why not.

Out of interest have you got any ventilation in the room?

Not bought yet but have a 100MM EXTRACTOR FAN CARBON FILTER lined up to buy for £80 in the next couple of weeks.

My room is just over 4ft x 4ft. Is that extractor big enough to do the job?

Thnx for ur replies m8 much appreciated.

Here, try this:

UK420 Growroom Calculator

yinyang.gif

e2a: A 100mm RVK does 175 m3/hour, and presuming your room is 5ft in height, then you would ideally require shifting 92m3/hour, so it's within spec - you should make a small allowance for the carbon filter, which will impede the airflow a little bit.

Handy wee tool that m8...tyvm. The height of my room is 7ft but that still brings me in under so still within spec....happys days.

Although the 100mm would do the job, I would personally consider going for the 125mm instead. Only a little bit extra coin but a better air exchange for your beauties.

Oh, and try not to buy your grow stuff off of ebay. It's FACT that people do get busted as a direct result of buying stuff from certain shops on there. Police raid these shops and just harvest names of customers.

Also you dont know what youre getting especially with electronics. (Learnt from experience)

Stick to the UK420 shop.

Good luck m8 yinyang.gif
