Hiya, going tomorrow for 4 days, mainly wanting to try lots of different hashes.
I don't think I've ever smoked a REAL hash before, due to mistakenly believing that rocky (shitbar) was hash until maybe 3 years ago , and only smoking green since then.
So now my aim is to try as many different hashes as possible so I can see the difference between them all.
I really want to try the fabled Nepalese Temple Ball, and I'm after some recommendations of others to try (looking for a deep mongy stone) and, if possible, where to go to find them?
We aren't really looking to travel too far from the center, say a 5 mile radius, but if theres no other option, we will

I may be wrong but I'm willing to bet that the chances of getting proper temple ball hash in the dam are about the same as finding an honest person in the house of commons.

I've wondered about that, Booj, and the bad thing is I wouldn't even know if it was real deal, not having tried it before. Wasn't the original stuff meant to have opium in it? I'm guessing if thats true, then no-one legit would be selling it? Or is that just urban legend stuff?
I'll be taking a note pad with me to try to write down what I think of each one, effects etc, but that'll probly get knocked on the head after the first spliff .
I've fasted from any spliffs for the last week to try and appreciate the real stuff a little more, but I can see me being a mess come tomorrow night

I think the temple ball/opium thing is an urban myth (maybe due to the heavy couchlock effect, not sure, I've smoked hash that was claimed to be temple ball, but I doubt it was). If I were you I'd try to find nice bubble hash instead of any imported hash, to be honest, if it's hash you're after. I confess to never having had the pleasure of going to the dam, but I've heard that even in the coffee shops you have to be on your toes, some of them do like to rip off tourists. Personally I wouldn't buy any hash unless they let you have a feel & smell first (and preferably put a flame to it to see how it goes under a bit of heat, that's the best way to tell decent hash, should melt & bubble under just a bit of heat).

^^ - And don't buy your weed from places that sell their own bubble and/or dry sift hash - it'll probably have been tumbled to bits.

I've heard that the whole temple ball/opium thing comes from people buying hash with small bits of white mould in it, and being told it was opium by unscrupulous sellers. I remember smoking such hashes in the early eighties. I'm told mould is more common in Charas than Nepalese hashes though. Damn prohibition. If we weren't forced underground we would have been able to properly document the rich and fascinating history of Cannabis and it's use all over the world through the ages.

well im off tmrw with the gf....last time i was there i had some Charras and NTB....agreed- i doubt it was proper NTB but its worth a shot buying some of these things cos if you dont....u might miss out on a lovely smoke.....perfect example was in one the kandinsky's (never know which one ive stumbled across!) and we bought some Ming....so sticky and smooth....it was a wonderful smoke...nothing ill or bad. ill def. be checking out Bluebird and Stix...havent ventured that far east before (!) but the new Barney's lounge is a greta place to chill...they play Jimi Hendrix/James Brown etc music dvds all day.....i forget what we bought but we made good use of their Vapouriser....glory!

(now im paranoid that nothing is what they say it is....what else do we have to go on!? if after inpection it passes your 'tests'...theres not much more you can do really is there...!?)

i too very very much doubt that you will be able to find temple ball in amsterdam.

Don't be tempted to buy in the first coffee shop you venture in to,look at the menu.
If it's hashes you are after then the 2 places i recommnd is the dampkring and the kashmir lounge.the kashmir lounge is a hash lovers paradise.17 differnt types of hash from all over the world,only 5-6 grasses though.

always a good bit of nep in nescafe(off dam square down the street with big clog)but for me the best hash canb usually found in the greenhouse,try the nevilles haze dry sieve if they have it,but hold on to your eyebrows!!enjoy ,dont forget your free seeds from gypsy nirvanas shop even if you wont grow them someone you know will..all rifman in dampkring good too

the white mould comes from hand rubbing plants that are holding lots of moisture. ie morning dew. it forms a white layer round the hash thats considered a protection by some to the hash in the middle but by others a way to add weight by dodgy producers. chances are that if you can see the white mould stufff its original

Had some alleged Temple in September, cant remember where from tho, and it was good. Wondered at the time if it was real deal, tasted like Menali but enjoyed it anyway. I tried loads of different hashes last time (Chocolata from Rockerij was nice!) and only came across 1 that i didnt enjoy, cant remember the name! Lightish colour, Morroccan, was like some of the shit we get back here in UK! Am off again a week today and look on expanding the range of hashes i have tried, any ideas to some good types and where to get them? Am more of a fan of dark hashes

Just about all of the coffeeshops I went in sold Nepalese temple ball.
I got some, from the Jolly Joker, proper touristy right in the middle of the RLD, and wether it's real or not, it gives me a niiiiiiiiiiiiice smiley buzzy high.
Also tried about 15 other coffeeshops, and I'm going to try and write a report later, but mushrooms were added to the occasion around 7pm Saturday, so it all went a bit mad from there

I'd heard the Bush Doctor Smokers Guide said that temple ball might be found at the Stix Coffee Shop in Amsterdam.

I was in the Dam from 14-17th May. I bought a couple grams of Temple Ball from Betty Boop coffeeshop. all i have to say is WOW. it put me on my arse. so much so we decided to stay for another joint. really friendly jap girls behind the bar. good atmosphere. good weed. we bought some NYC diesel, smoked that up and then bought some more diesel in the bulldog 'energy' and what a let down that was!!! I would highly recommend going to Betty Boops!! Nieuwezijds Kolk.

thought opium was black anyway? tbh i'd prefer some bubble or maroc instead of handrubbed shit i don't know where those hands have been! or if theres skin in the hash! let alone a crust of mold .
i've had some stuff from barneys that was literally nothing like hash more like dog shit, indian hash or something but i think the dealer just didn't like me and fobbed me off probably, even my hoover mate wouldn't smoke it. their other stuffs okay but wouldn't buy hash off them again just for taking the piss on that occasion. the pink kush was nice when i was there.
i always hear bluebird stix and pinkfloyd good for hash.

I wouldn't recommend fasting on weed before u go or you'll out your box afetr the first couple joints as joints in the dam are on average twice as big as the ones you build at home and it's alot of stronger than most in UK if your not growing at least.
