Heya,
Ive been suffering with Exma ( Not sure how you spell it.. ) for a long time, Sometimes it gets better so that you cant even see any damaged on my skin, Other times my arms are coverd in scar's, ect.
I have noticed that since I have been toking more often, that my Exma has become more bareable. But I would like to try and fine tune this and see if any of you guys could recommend a strain that could help me.
Does anyone on here suffer from Exma and find that a certain strain helps them to cope with the itchyness?
The thing is I dont want somthing that will completely knock me out either... But I guess thats kind of the point of using Cannabis for medical purposes, isnt it?

Not quite sure of the correct proportions but if you mix powdered cannabis with cold cream it'll relieve the redness/itchyness. I have a little patch of eczema in the middle of my chest that flares up whenever I get stressed out.

Hello chap.
I've had eczema for years - since primary school. On both ankles inside and out and on my arms.
It has kind of subsided over the recent years to just my ankle, but that had started to creep up my leg and get bigger and bigger.
I sound like a broken record, but since i stopped smoking it has disappeared. It's gone. Admitedly, you can't just stop smoking weed, but i know a few people with skin complaints that underestimate the problems that smoking causes. Quitting tobacco helped a lot too but literally as i went into hospital (and hence stopped toking) the eczema went away.
I'm sorry i can't give you any info on strains - but are you using any creams or such?
As you've said it flares up on occasion - then perhaps it is something in your diet? An exclusion diet is a tough thing to go through and do properly - but dairy products are often cited as causing problems. It could be anything really.

Well Troubled Mind, I feel for you as I suffer with skin irritations covering most of my body. In my yrs of experience with hospitals , creams etc I have only ever found one cream that suffices and does a fantastic job! Completely organic as well!
As I dont want to get into trouble advertising on the site, if you want details send me a pm and I will pass on the name of stuff to use?
And Im talking of searching for nearly 20yrs!!! It may not work for you? But peeps that I have suggested it too, have been well impressed! Although ,it is a cream that you rub in at night time as it reddens the skin a little

Hey guys/girls - any child friendly creams or remedies - send details my way too... my little daughter gets eczema on her arms.. aqueous cream helps when we remember to use it, but she doesn't smoke and we don't smoke in front of her, so she can't quit. A lot of the time I think it comes down to washing powder/conditioner.

you might want to change your cooking oil to hemp seed oil (sold at your supermarket as Good Oil). link here for more

Well, The creams I use now are, Doublebase, Aqeous, and occasionaly e45 ( cant use it all the time as it has steroids in it.. ) I also use Hemp cream on my hands which is fantastic, I suffer from very dry hands that normally end up cracking the skin and I get very painful splits in my hand, But the Hemp cream not only softens it but acts as a barrier cream as well.
I have stopped smoking both weed and tobacco as of yesturday mid-day, so it will be interesting to see a differnce.
The Cannabis mixed with cream sounds like an Interesting idea Hvy, Maybe ill try experimenting. And the part about where you say that your eczema gets worse when your stressed. Well I think thats the same thing for me, and at the moment I am rather stressed...
I also suffer from Hayfever which is a bitch, As it effects my Eczema as well, Starts making my skin have massive goose bumps down my arms. So it could be a mix of a few things thats bringing it up really bad.

Hi TM,
I suffer from psoriasis ... luckily quite a mild case on my hands mainly. I discovered that since I started regularly toking (1 joint at night), my skin has dramatically improved. I also find "aveeno" cream helpful.
Have you tried putting a cupful of porridge (oats) in your bath?

Here is something a bit of the beaten track which may help, hopefully.
Parafricta Fabric Fitted bedsheet.
This fitted bedsheet, which is for a single mattress (range is a bit limited!) and has dimensions of 190cm X 90cm (75" X 36"), has a topside panel of Parafricta Fabric giving the following properties:
Low friction at the skin. The friction is so low that it's equiv. of gliding over ice - without the freezing cold. Anyone who suffers with alloydenia, or CRPS, or many neurological and skin conditions will appreciate the lack of pain when moving over/under bed clothing or clothes moving over skin (there is also a very limited but useful Parafricta clothing range).
Protection of the skin at any point touching the bed.
Durability to wear and tear.
Washable at high temperatures giving cleanliness without loss of its unique properties.

Heya,
Rember I made a post ages ago about my Exzema, Well it started to get worse and worse and none of the prescribed creams worked, It got to the point where the skin on my arm was just cracking and spliting open if I bent my arm to much...
Well thanks to the overwhelming support from uk420 members and admins ( people was pming me and everything ) I tried some Hemp cream. its a barrier cream that is surposed to protect your hands, it puts the moisture straight back in my hands and my hands feel soft and human again, so I tried it on my arms and seriously after about 3 days my skin is almost back to normally.
Im going to start cooking with hemp oil and al lthe other stuff soon as people have told me thats surposed to be good as well.
So thanks uk420 guys, you guys know your stuff.

My other half was listening to the radio last night and overheard something interesting......some skin and scalp specialist was on giving out natural remedies etc.... I still suffer greatly with scalp problems and it seems the best way to approach and rid yourself of these problems is to just not wash your hair! Even medical shampoos prescribed for these conditions strips your scalp of its essential oils which if I think about it makes sense

Now I'm not comparing myself to a dog

BUT I am strict about washing my dog as it strips her skin so I keep baths to a minimum and always water down the shampoo so why dont I do that to myself?

Now the thought of not washing my hair horrifies me, but after approx 6 wks there is apparently vast difference in hair condition and thickness? There are also ways to keep it clean smelling naturally without washing although I forget what they are now

I was also told to use clay on my scalp by my own doctor when I approached him with this. These remedies cure grey hair also, can it get any better?

Well I think I will try this and see how far I can go without washing my hair, cos I cant bear the pain and itching anymore. Any bets on how long Ill last?

I'll keep you posted
If anyone is interested in what the specialist had to say it was on Radio 2 last nite... Chris Evans show... hope I dont get into trouble for advertising the Radio

Well, I done it! 6 wks without using shampoo

Did it work? Scalp condition didnt improve although it didnt get any worse and seemed to stay about the same....... I will say that I thought after 6 wks my head would look like someone had spilt a chip pan on it

Not true

I asked a friend how long she thought it had been since it had been washed and she reckoned on it being a week, my hair condition has improved immensly and when it got too much I rinsed it with lemon juice and hot water... although if you try this dont make my mistake

Water down the Lemon juice

I said Id keep you posted.. does it help control scalp condition? In my case unfortunately no

But you gotta try these things aintcha?

i've been using hemp oil on my head since it sorted out a bad skin condition on my cat (although i think the stuff she ingested was more important). i rub loads in an hour or two before a bath and then use just one dose of shampoo and rinse in the bathwater. this technique also works on restoring grey hair.
didn't the romans use oil rather than soap when bathing?

olive oil I believe .... but only when popeye wasn't looking.

my sister used to be a hairdresser before she got fibromyalgia and she always told me that products like head and shoulders etc. were actually worse for the scalp in the long term .

I thought that was because even medical shampoos contain sodium lauryl sulphate as do most soaps and even toothpastes. Its used as its a cheap way to get foam but its quite a harsh detergent which strips the oils from human skin.
Obviously those manufacturing the products say they're safe but if you suffer it might be worth a google as health shops do sell sls free shampoos and soaps.
Ylang Ylang & Lavender, mixed in water then applied to face helps me, stops the irratating itch.

I dont have it myself but I have heard that humidifiers are good for it, as it adds moister to the air and helps the skin not dry out as much, plus you can also use it for your grow in veg stage
I got 1 for about £40 which does the job great, make sure you get an ultrasonic 1 tho.
Cheers

I think that the 'miracle cream' that's good for eczema is 'Udderly Smooth Cream' that was supposed to be originally for cows

wats happening troops? i feel for you all as i have had serious problems with psoriasis all my life. in my opinion it seems to come on when i dont have a smoke (stress factor). whenever i have a smoke it seems to ease (must be the fact i cant be arsed scratching the balls out of myself) but yeah i seem to forget ive got it. a good session on the pop doesn't help either (dries the skin out). so, because different meds work for different people, i would try to concentrate on foods/drinks that help the skin and maybe consult a dermatologist for creams/bath soaks. after trying many diff creams/soaks i have finally found a bath soak that is working very well that the doc prescribed. a bath soak is much easier than layering yourself in cream every morning and night just be warned about the smell ( i dont mind it but my girlfriend seems to choke on it) so i use little amounts as much as i can. just make sure the windows and doors are open. hope this helps peeps but its just my scenario, everyone's diff. so please take care all and happy smoking n toking
Try giving cows milk a miss...and i mean in everything (i gotta read the ingrediants on everything)
