Easy all, I started setting up in a PC case, now I've gone for a wardrobe. So I've decided to put a fluorescent light in the PC case just to get the plant up to the vegetive cycle. My question is;

What wattage fluorescent should I use just to start the plant off, before I put it in my 400watt mh grow wardrobe?

Cheers.

BTW, are those energy savers with the long tubes fluorescents?

You can get CFLs real cheap these days, aim for as high a wattage as you can find, like the 18-20W ones seem to be quite common ATM - you can get them for as cheap as 49p from places like Netto,

Another quick question, the suns out proper where I am, I take it it's a good idea to leave it on my window ledge when I can?

No harm in letting them have a little sunlight when it's out - just make sure that you remember to stick 'em back under the lights when it's gone in.
