Okay people, I recently had the unbelievable good fortune to sample some of the Lot #5, the seeds of which I believe have recently been distributed and are popping as we speak amongst the good citizens of these boards. Not having been stoned for some weeks, I was in a pretty good position to give it a try. Unfettered by any other strain I was coming from a clean slate. I'm a toker of some twenty six years experience and have smoked dozens of different strains of homegrown, as well as the finest the Netherlands have to offer since Easy Jet started to offer cheap flights in 2000. So, long story short, I consider myself a seasoned toker. So here it is.
Lot #5 Smoke Report
Okay, not had a smoke for over a month now, so I'm looking forward to trying this from a totally straight perspective.
Open the bag, stick your nose in, and inhale slowly. The immediate smell if fruit. In fact, it's fruit fruit fruit fruit fruit! But there's a musty, slightly sour undertone as well, but in that wonderful way that cannabis has of making what would in any other way be a bad smell, a sign of good things to come. Once you've blazed a bit up, and your senses are enhanced, get your nose back in the bag, for a second smell. Grapefruit! That's the smell, that sweet, but sour fruity experience that reminds me of grapefruit, but grapefruit that's spent a week or two on the compost heap. I would love to give this a go once it has had the full six month cure. I gather this example hasn't been cured too long, so if this is anything to go by the full cure would bring out some really complex notes.
So. Spark it up and what happens? Well, for the first while the high is as clear as a bell. Your head is clear, there's a slight smile on your face, and there's a definite feeling something is going on. It's a weird feeling at first. My impression was that I was stoned, but it's a bit like watching yourself being stoned from outside. You know someone's stoned, but it takes a few seconds to realise it's you. Then it settles down a bit, and you feel a ripple of feeling going up and down your body, and realise you've been staring at the same thing for quite a while now. Oh yes, your stoned.
It's a creeper this though. I started off feeling that I was as clear headed as I needed to be to get things done. thought I might do a bit of hoovering or somesuch. Then realised I couldn't feel my feet, or more accurately, the floor, and my feet with it, kept moving away from me, I don't know where they were going, but they can't have been having as much fun as where the rest of me was. I sat for ages with a big grin on my face, trying to decide what to do with myself, then forgetting I was trying to decide, then coming back to trying to decide again.
I went into the back garden to watch the trees and birds and get an idea of the visuals. First impressions were that it's hard to look at anything at all for any length of time. Your eyes just seem to slide off things, like they're fidgeting all the time, restless kind of thing. It's hard to concentrate, and forget reading, cos your eyes just wont sit still.
It's like being in two minds. One mind is focused on things, too much at times, you can become too fascinated by the choice in a supermarket shelf for example, and realise you may have been standing there for ten seconds or ten minutes, hard to tell. The other part of your mind has no clue what day of the week it is, let alone what you came into the supermarket for in the first place, or indeed in my case, whether the supermarket was real or whether I was dreaming it. Very odd experience.
To sum it up, it's like being kidnapped by those little tic tac men from the tic tac advert. There's a part of you that is totally lucid, determined to get stuff done, and is completely in control. Then there's a part of you that appears to be getting carried along by small men dressed as tic tac's who want to help you, only you have no idea what it was you started off trying to do before life got so surreal you called in the tic tac men to help you out, and what the hell they're trying to help you out with.
If this all sounds a bit surreal, smoke it and see. when you come down, it'll all make sense.
