Its my first grow and I have bought a 250w metal halide bulb that I am useing at present Wk 3
I also have a 600w HPS bulb

My question is at what stage would/should I change to the 600w ?

What stage are you at now - 3rd week of veg?

Most people with both kinds of light (if they're not vegging under the MH, and flowering under both) would switch over to the HPS at the start of flowering, or thereabouts.

Edit: Oh, yeah - like CV says, you *do* have a 250W ballast *and* a 600W one, don't you? unsure.gif

I'm assuming you also have a 600 watt ballast ?

If you're repotting every couple of weeks, at some point it becomes sensible to switch to your big light. In my case it's at approx 4 weeks - when they're in their flowering pots.

Im only 3 weeks in so the plants are small
What I was thinking would I get better/Quicker growth under the 600w hps than the 250w MH
