Full Version: Advanced Nutrients , Any Good ????????
hello all , am thinking of trying some different nutes ? i'm currently using house and garden , been growing a couple of years now and havent had any experience with any others . so my question is have any of u guys tried advance nutrients ? looked on there website yesterday and they have a new connoseur a+b apparently its more expensive and they say that its got higher quality ingrediends in it . sorry guys if ive posted in the wrong section , first post so not sure what to do .

Other peeps may tell you different but honestly don't believe the hype as regards 'Advanced Nutrients'
Silly money for stuff that can be bought elsewhere for a fraction of the cost.

I am with you brother, 100% Advanced certainly has it's bells and whistles. The commoner could easily think that the bells and whistles are gonna give something extra to the plants.. In fact not. If you want to pay for marketing, and fancy claims which I am sure you do not then advanced is not for you. It's quite simple actually, with nutes, You want a clean nute, the proper ratio's of nutrients during different stages of development, and finally nutes from a company that has tried and tested over and over their products and the most buzz you hear about them is from growers not adds in every single magazine offering money back guarantee's. To much like a TV info-mercial, " Buy now and if your not totaly satisfied there is a 100% money back guarantee"..... Plus they have so many additives and crap that is not really needed that makes their feeding schedule like doing Calculus.
House and GArden has a nice line, finally we can get it here in California. Was'nt that line developed by someone who worked at Canna and then left??????

OverPriced and also Over-rated, i used a+b with all their recommended boosters for about 8months!!! what a load of crap, and a very expensive feeding programme!. after recommendations from a friend i started using IONIC grow+bloom, which is cheap and i would say results are at least 50% better! FLORA MICRO/GROW/BLOOM is the latest programme im trying and so far!!! results are great, totally managable feed!. GOOD LUCK!
Don't bother imo. They cost a fortune, and I don't believe their marketing for one minute regarding how much better they outperform the rivals.

i am ususing BAC nutrients and their are just amazing [spam]
Their sched gives you temps and humidity
they are cheap
I did an amazing test, in their sched they don't mention flushing the system so i harvested a plant without flushing and the flavor as excellent even withouy cure only dry, i am really amazed with their products.
I have used GHE and bionova i am sticking with BAC.
I hate HYPE marketing stuff , like i am the f*** king of cannabis (a guy that design greenhouses)

by the way, the 3LB started that nonsense about it just being molasses and it's only because they've got some kind of vendetta against Advanced Nutrients. All you have to do is look at their Carboload and it's plenty obvious that it's not molasses. I trust my own senses more than something written on the Internet.

I hear there's plenty of nasty shit in advanced nutes. I haven't been through all the threads to see, but maybe someone has info on what their nutes contain.

I get bigger and better bud so I can't complain.
You know the Lucas formula works with Advanced Nutrients too, right? The Lucas formula isn't a nutrient line, it's just a mixing ratio for a 3-part base nutrient system and AN's fits that formula just as well as GH's does. (Better imho because it's better chelated and such.)

Carboload is molasses in the same way that a hamburger is a cow. Even if molasses is an ingredient (which I don't think it even is) there's a hell of a lot that also goes into it and is done to it before it becomes Carboload.

I go by a simple test.
If a pic of harvest day is posted, could you tell
A) Whether it was grown under 400w, 600w or 1kW
B) Which reflector
C) Which brand of nutes
I reckon I could correctly guess which light most times but for the other 2 I wouldn't have a clue, therefore it doesn't matter. All hydro nutes work, all reflectors work, not enough difference between them to be apparent in a pic. Personal preference is another matter, my choice of nutes is for convenience, not yield although they does yield ok.
I remember when AN came out, they made some wild claims and not just about their own nutes. According to the AN 'scientists' using Grotek nutes increased cbn by a factor of 6. I think that there would have been plenty of anecdotal evidence on that if it were anywhere close to true.
People get greedy for yield, and where's there is greed, there are people skilled in taking money from the greedy.

They have soooooo many products seems like they just want get the growers money
Its a bit unfair slating a company just because they have a range of products. You dont need everything all the time.
A.N has a nutrient calculator that gives recommended formulas for low medium and high feedings. You certainly dont have to use everything.
Sensizym works. Hammerhead works (and its not even included in the calculator). Noteably my 2 phenos of RSC Lebanese are budding nicely without going hermy when even soil growers find them sensitive to nutes..

I have to say I agree with Olivier. I've used a whole bunch of different combos when it comes to growing and seen results with everything.
I think you just have to find what works for you because every room is different and every grower is different. Plus, I started out with the icky Mircle-Gro sort of stuff and now I'm doing the AN organic thing.
Better to test and see for yourself rather than discounting an entire brand because you think they're advertising too much. All companies have to advertise otherwise we'd never know they existed...

iv used AN for the first time on this grow after using canna on 4 previous grows an i think theres a massive difference in my plants. verdict...i like AN aswell
