Full Version: Could This Be A N Def?

Hi folks,

My one and only female outta 7 Blueberry has started to display what I think is N def, its not a classic display, fading from green to yellow but more a 'marbling' of the fade to yellow (see pic, small leaf).

I've been throught the prob solver but that has just added to my confusion sad.gif

The plant is in day 20 of flower, growing in Westlands A+. It was fed for the first time(BioBizz 1ml Grow & 2ml Bloom) @ day 14 of flowering as some of the bottom leaves were starting to yellow. I've continued feeding/watering at the rate mentioned, approx every two days but this hasn't curtailed the 'marbling' on the leaves.

Grow room temps are fairly stable 20c to 25/28 lights-on.

Any ideas what this could be??

TIA

Peace

Hi kablex,

It does look like it could be N def. I would try adding 2 ml's of grow. It won't reverse the yellowing but should stop it in it's tracks. Watering every 2 days seems quite often. What size pots are you in? You should be giving em a good thorough soaking then allowing to get quite dry before watering again.

If the compost isn't allowed to dry a little it can become stagnant.
edit to add the red/purple leaf stem is a sign of N def too wink1.gif

Yep I agree but it was the 'marbling' that made me wonder if it was something other than N, as for the watering(OT1's method), previous grows were done in AllMix and I judged when they required watering by the weight of the pot and I've continued that process with Westlands ..... should continue to do so? The pot size is 19x19x25(think thats 6ltrs).

The plant itself overall I would say looks heathy, stems are turgid, growth is good, good enough that I've had to tie her down.

But could that not be a 'red herring' as it could also be strain related?

..... biggrin.gif and FYI I'm following OT1 / Bish Mg method, not unless the plant tells me otherwise.

Many thanks for the input :-)

You should stick with the method you have used up till now as far as watering goes wink1.gif

Red stems can be strain related yes. Not too sure it is in this instance tho.

Yep I'll just stick with my current method of watering and as for the red stems, I agree as further research into the Bluberry strain came up with nowt regarding red stems as a genetic trait(sp?) but more to nutient defs and torture biggrin.gif

Again, many thanx for the input :-)

Can't tell much from the HPS-lit pics, but I can see a few leaves in the pic in post 11 that seem to be saying Mg def, especially around 9 o'clock. Not sure though. unsure.gif

They look hungry to me mate wink.gif

kablex
.... yep I agree, I've just fed them 2 grow & 3 bloom plus teaspoon of epson salts. I'm hoping this help.
I'm always unsure as to how much feed to give, I generally follow OTs schedule and have been this grow.

Cheers for the input peeps.
