hello people i am new to all of this so bear with me, i have been thinking about going down the energy saving light route (the ones you can buy in wilkos and other places) for lighting and i was wondering because all they sell is the bulbs so how am i supposed get them up and running or atleast a better question would be were in the u.k (not on the internet) can i find the right light sockets for these things and how to wire them up so i can plug them in and go, thanks! any replys greatly appreciated.
go to your local hardware shop and ask for a 'batten holder'

Wilko's has all you need mate, just look near the bulbs

As above - the holders you need are the same for regular bulbs. There's loads of different types of fittings, so anything like that to suit your requirements is available. Wilkos, B&Q etc etc all have the stuff you need.

Wilkos sell pre-wired clip lamp holders for about £2.49 ... they will be with the extension cords and plugs etc...

can somebody either explain or point me in the right direction as how I could connect a number of these bulbs to run off of 1 single plug? Is it called daisy-chaining, or is that something off a dodgy website

?

hello mate
bring the flex into the first batten holder
then where the live goes into the first batten holder take another live cable from that terminal to the live of the next batten holder..and so on..
do the same with the neutrals also mate
