well got a bit of time to meself today, no work and no missus stalin..........which on occassion can be nice so i can get on with things like this!

anyhow down to the nitty gritty

ive been building a mother/clone box on and off over the last few weeks.

dimensions:W700 x D500 x H1200

materials: 13mm plasterboard, 20mm x 30mm sawn timber , 8mm mdf board for the door, a bit of door jam
gaffa tape. good free advice

lighting 200w blue enviro.

small tower osc fan.

I had used mylar on the walls but recorded the temps upto 37 C, so ive taken it down and will be using good old matt white.
tried using mylar in my bodbox a while back and nearly cooked my ladies. so figure only use mylar on big grow rooms.or very well vented rooms

anyhow im stuck with the dilema of air extraction and what is best to use, dont like the idea od a pc fan (although i am open minded on this) so i was figuring on a small toilet extract fan dont want to fork out the money ona a rvk.
the box has to be light tight aas best as possible as it will be in the same room as my budbox so cant leave the door open. the vent holes will be drilled at the rear i have currently 6 25mm dia holes i know i need more ive topics on here, just need to track em down again.

anyhow any thoughts ideas much apprieciated.

Nice lookin wee box , with regards to your fan I would opt for an rvk they are quiet and do the job very well as bathroom fans will make a bit more noise.

cheers fummo, wasnt sure about which would be quieter, as i have a cheaper rvk equivilant 5" fan on budbox, tis a bit loud thou. mind you it isnt an rvk!

I run a 150 rvk and 125 rvk 3 ft away from my bed 24/7 and the noise isn't bad, add fan controllers and Roberts your fathers brother.

theres no way i could sleep in the same room as mine, i was worried next door could hear it....til they moved out!

anyhow cheers for advice, will have a shop around.

just checked on box and its defo cooler in there without mylar. will have to get thermometer out when bb lights come on

i went for a s&p td160 fan very quiet, used bungees to suspend after problems with vibes downstairs.

anyhow justgotta add a few more passive intake holes. bought a clip on fan from b et q's and ive used draw handles for it to clip on with. i have one handle above the light and one below(as pic)

currently running empty to monitor temps etc

nice build mate looking good,so are you just going to keep mothers and clones in there?
i also have my homebox 2ft away from mine and the wifes bed,altough the 150mm is in the loft,ducted to extract from the homebox in the bedroom.

hi fuzzpot, plasterboard and timber were gratis from abuilding site (but prob materials used $15), $40 for blue enviro 200w (125w are abt 20), $20 for reflector, $6 for clip on fan, $60 quid for extract fan $7 for mdf board(door) and about $15 for misc stuff hooks bungees paint so it came to about say 150 squid. defo be building moreof my own in the future. thinking of knocking one up?

yea m8 got a budbox for blooming, after building thou i may have that entirely for mothers and build a smaller one for clones will see.
not sure where im gonna be dumping the air prob at the top opening of sash window out of sight somehow.
