Full Version: Pro Budbox Setup Plan

ok, so i saw the budbox and thought wow! its a perfect ready made lightproof lil room!

anyway, after much reading i decided to put together a parts list of everything that would actualy be needed for a grow in one.

this is as complete a list as i could think of. if anyone has any sugestions/modifications/additions/cheaper places to buy etc, then please post them! as that is the whole point of me writing it all down.

the list is based on an attick grow which would vent outside, although i plan to make seperate lists and design sketches for a shed and a bedroom grow, both of which would also use the budbox as it can be hidden away in a corner of either.

sketch of this setup will be done when i have finished the parts list with any suggestions you guys give me.

i made the spreadsheet in open office, its saved in xls (microsoft format) so all you guys with excel can read it.

as i expected first reply and already theres stuf ive missed, not updating my list just yet as its late and i have work tomorow.

just from reading it quickly i forgot to add any flooring materials, shouldnt be much, just a couple of planks and maybe something like a square of polystyrine to go under the tent...?

ime not including electrisity in this but i might add sockets in, and wireing.

and i see you have ladders on your list, definately something ill add to mine. only have a small ladder so have to sort of climb the last 2 feet into my attick doh.gif should have thought of that.

maybe a new section in the list for those, ime trying to make it so can be used and adapted by anyone.

after germination i was thinking the plants could be put straight into the final large pots, to save the stress of transplanting. i see you listed 3 diferent sizes of pots, do you recomend transplanting?

You be glad of some extra floor space for storing stuff and when repotting/harvesting/tending/making up feed/etc. The more the better imo. But if you intend to do most of those tasks downstairs, then it might not matter.
I forgot about the polystyrene.

Don't go to B&Q etc, cost u a fortune for crap. you'll get better deals on-line.

I had a similar set of ladders which lasted a week, you will be up and down quite a bit.

Yes, some folk recommend 4. For bestest results, you need to tend to the needs of the plant's root system as well as the bits you see.

Good luck with the grow thumbsup.gif

currently using one of those 1.2x1.2x2m grow tent in my garage, i have a 600w diamond thing in there and a 400w which i put on for the flowering, extraction i use a 125mm rvk high powered fan (365m3) also controlled by a prima air fan and is more than adequate for the size of the tent and its connected up to a phat carbon filter (total cost for fan and filter £138 - greens horticulture), am using passive intake and have been keeping the temps at 22-24c lights on. does get cold at night as no insulation in garage so have a oil panel heater in there, though lookin in to this new super thin, reflective insulation called airflex for the inside my tent is expensive but looks good. anyhows my set up cost was c£750 for lights, fan, filter, heater, soil pots nutes etc, got 11 plants in the tent and aim for 2-3oz per pant smoke.gif

shop around though, managed to get mine cheap from greens hort as they had a 20% discount over new year, got the lot from them. good choice on the digital lumatek ballast, i regret not getting one at the time, use that with the sunmaster grow lamp and you get 105,000 lumens!! bosh

Won't help a bit mate if your intake temp is low.

PS mods frown upon advertising ph34r.gif

how loud is that exraction system? by using larger fans than required i was hoping to be able to turn the speed right down and get it almost silent

theres another thing for the list, a small box and insulation to put the fan in
Fat Freddy
Your more likely to hear the fan hummm when speed regulated than you would the airflow whoosh when at full speed. Hummms seem to resonate around the house more than whooshes. 34.gif
danthebadman
have a look here its no pro setup but i like it wink.gif
DeathByTree
ok i have now changed the fans to two rvk125 l1 410 m3/h
also the duct reducers for aircooled hood are not needed with 125mm fans.

so now it should whoosh rather than buzz ph34r.gif

wire, sockets, and several other items have been added. no prices yet. ill have a look localy for ladders/flooring etc but for now they are also on list with no prices.

instead of a heater, which ime sure would use lots of power, i have changed the design to vent through the attick hatch. not so good security wise, but it might be possible to pass of as an air purifying system...?

made a rough sketch to help me work out numbers of duct clamps, bungee cords and check for missed parts.

dont have a scanner so ill try and take a good picture of it later.

one more question, where should i fix the temp sensors for fan control? should they be in the light at top of plants, which i guess would give the temp the plants are getting, or out of light to get the air temp?

tbh your plan seems very good, you will have good vent and will be quiet as those prima air things do work well, my set up is pretty quiet u cant hear it outside the garage but i do have low temp probs, but with a 600w and 400w hps i have no heat probs so cant complain really. with your set up you could easily manage another lamp in there for the last 5-6 weeks of flowering, will really notice difference in your yield. good luck, ps if you have cash to spare and noise is an issue look into the accoustic fans, supposed to be silent ish and smaller size fans pull as much as larger rvk.
DeathByTree
i had a look at the acoustic fans, but they all seem to be too bulky to hang up with the carbon filter. so if i used one i would have to put it on the floor or outside somewhere. the aircooled hood is designed to have air blown through not sucked through, so that means lots more ducting to get it down from the filter and up to the hood, then back out and to vent
