i was changing the reservoir of one of my nfts today and noticed loads of larvae in the tank and in the surface film. these little fekers are about 2mm and white in the larval stage, i noticed some darker adults trying to sort of jump n riggle like mad....hope they drown the fekers
My cameras not up to the job of a picie, any ideas folks and are they gona harm my babies?

hi mate, i think it may be springtails, they are smaill , white and , as the name suggests, they move by sorta springing about , like flickin their bodies and jumpin.
check the pest FAQ. they are not lethal, but they do eat at your root system, neem oil is a good organic way to deal with them but im sure others will have suggestions.

i drained the tank at lunchtime and left it for a few hours, when i went to fill it i noticed them mate. yes every 7-10 days if im slacking.

right so, anyways i hate any creepycrawlies next to my plants(harmless or not) so ive purchased this stuff called Microbial rootzone conditioning solution, anyone tried it? its not cheap, 20quid.
