I downloaded VLC media player thingy and now all my music files and everything try to open in it, how do I set my preferences? Is it in VLC settings or not?
Sorry for the dopey question but I have had a look around and a fiddle and I can't work it out and I don't want to have to right click and select open with all the time...

edit to add my preference is to use WMP

In that case, you need to go to Tools -----> Options in Windows Media Player, then select the 'File Types' tab - hit 'Select All' to get WMP to claim back all the file types it's lost to VLC Player
