Hello all!

I started some OEs about 2 weeks ago, I planted 4 seeds. all germinated within 2 days (just put them in soil, no tissue paper etc).

One of these 3 is now in the bin, it was very stunted growth wise. Its jagged leaves were small and strangly proportioned, with the leaves curliung under themselves and being very brittle and hard.

The other 3 are have just started taking off after a slow start and I have two definate phenos - a more indicia based one (two plants) and one which is significantly sativa based - it looks really pretty.

I was wondering if anyone had any expereinces with these phenos - how they smoke etc? I'm very excited about them! Hopefully the remaining 3 will be girls. Also if you had the sativa pheno, how much did it stretch as i'm growing in a small cabinet!

Thanks for any info!

Hugs and Kisses,
Dave.

High Davey!

Im glad to hear you are growing Orient Express!

OE usually grows compact and columnar indoors like the chinese indica. The main pheno is quite compact and doesnt stretch too much in the flowering. There are other more sativa influenced plants (less commoun) but the quality and aromas of the finished poduct are quite similar between all the plants. More sativa influenced plants could take around 10 days more to flower and would grow taller but there are no significant differences in the finished product.

Keep the humidity high in the 3rd-4th week of life for better female ratios.

Please, keep us updated! dubi

It's little snippets like that which make me really love ACE Seeds. I'll be foiler feeding and leaving a glass of water in the cabinet for the next week or two then to see how they get on!

The satvia pheno really looks lovely, very elegant. Both phenos I can see are very uniform and regular. The satvia influenced one seems to be developing side shoots earlier and faster at the moment. I've never really had the opportunity to compare two phenos like this, its really interesting.

Cheers,
Dave.

I found the OE that I grew to be very linear and as dubi said, short and compact. I did not experience any major pheno differences. The strain has major influences from the Asian parentage.
Nice to have a more sat pheno from the Vietnam Black sativa mother of this strain.

I just tied the more sativa based one down, i'm going to attempt a LST training method with it as I need to try and keep plant heights as uniform as possible.

It was just over twice as tall as the more indicia flavoured plants. Looks a treat though! The indi ones I think im just going to let the grow how they want without training, even with my height problems. Mainly so I can see if its possible. If it goes terribly wrong i'll just go back to Scrog with my bangi haze! biggrin.gif
Farmacy
I had an OE pheno that was certainly stretchy...clone flowered at about 7" shot up at least 3-4 times during the stretch.

Alas, she started throwing out several pollen sacks so I chopped her at wk4. Don't know if I stressed her at all....If I did, I didn't mean it, honest!

I still have a small mother of this pheno just in case (I hate killing beatiful plants pinch.gif )

Good day Farmacy!

Im very sorry to hear your lonely OE female finally became hermie. Hermie plants are not commoun in OE hybrid but are not exceptional. It's one of the sacrifices we must support when working with wilder genetics.
Chinese genetics have some recesive hermie influence and it can appear in certain plants.

Anyway, it's very easy to find powerful high yielding hermie free OE parents to grow. Have you got more seeds to germinate?

Cheers yinyang.gif I have germed the remaining 6 seeds. They are the ones I won from my cotc a year ago wink.gif All popped and healthy, two weeks old....Unlike the 10 warlock I put down at the same time- 7 came through, but some look a little weak and slow to get going in comparison to the OE! The first pair of true leaves on the lock had a little brow mottling... Like a fool I bought them from a head shop in my locale I have not used before. I am a little suspicious of their seed storage methods sad.gif Still I digress. You live and learn.

Future purchases exclusively from the UK420 store methinks!

As an addenum... have 4 deffo OE females out of six with a possible 5th....and 1 deffo warlock fem out of seven with 2 undetermined. Grrrrr.
The_Embalmer
I found the OE strain very consistant in growing. The germ rate and Fem rate is good compared to others.

A good allround and genuine plant, from my experiences. Not the best from ACE, but good enough.

She has her subtlties once grown.

Hiya,
I've 3 OE's on the go now! all female wink.gif
and Lovely plants!
I guess 1 is Sativa phenotype and the other 2 OEs possibly Indica phenotype?
Im still learning the basics of growers language, and growing i'll never stop learning
The OE's have given me absolutly no problems apart from the 2 (what i believe) indica phenotypes are a little strechy, but from here what does that matter??
theres another 2 plants, 1 sensi skunk which has given problems with leaf spot mold and a random plant also with leaf spot mold, what im getting at here, is ACE seeds seem to me to be very resistant to these probs smile.gif ACE genetics guitar.gif
heres a couple pics anyway.. hope you like!!

From your very nice images, there would appear to be a strong sativa dominance in the first plant, from the Vietnamese Black mother.
The second image image shows strong Indica dominance in that plant, from the Chinese Yunnan father.

You might find that the sat dom pheno will require slightly less feeding than the indica dom pheno.

The ones I grew seemed a lot more balanced. But, who's complaining whistling.gif

They look very good indeed. Grow well. yinyang.gif
